Broward College August 2010

Hello!!! Just wondering if anyone else has applied for August 2010 yet? :)

I believe that you choose it when you register for courses online

NMG86 is correct. You choose the campus you want to attend the day you register for your classes. So when the time comes, I would suggest you register as soon as its open to ensure you get the campus you want. the only exception to this is if you are applying for the online program. Then you have to attend central and you have to specify that you want the online program when you apply.

it seems like there is so much mis information being given out at north campus. Everytime i go i hear something new. I went to my advisor on tuesday and she said the scores would NOT be used as a means to determine placement into the program. She said as long as you meet the minimum requirements you can apply but they dont care how well you do as long as the minimum is met???

Hello all.....so I wanted to start a thread for those who applied or will be applying to the Aug program. I was actually accepted to the May program but I was just not ready to start (family) so I defer my seat to August and now the wait is killing me big time not to know if I got accepted obviously but because I just want to start already !!! and it sucks even more since they extended the application deadline....anyways feel free to leave comments, question, advice, etc.

My application is "in review". The HESI has no points. There's just a check mark indicating that requirement has been satisfied. There's no way to tell if the actual score counted for anything. Maybe they'll use it as a tie breaker??

If you deferred your seat, you're pretty much in. I know they say they have to see if there's enough seats or whatnot, but you are "in" you just deferred your seat to another semester. When I applied, I was thinking about deferring, actually that was my plan all along. I had wanted to start in Jan '10 but I wanted to apply and get my seat in the program secured, so I applied for August with the intent on deferring. I ended up starting in Aug but at orientation, I asked **the person who ran orientation whose name I cannot say on here** about deferring and she said I could defer my seat to any semester I wanted to, even if it was like 3 semesters later, but I would only be able to do it once, so once I decided and chose, that would be it. What did they tell you about your seat? What does your application status say?

you guys are confusing me

I'm with ladieej, i'm confused! Im going to stop by and talk to the people at central b/c when I turned in my app they never said anything about early decisions or about the hesi being weighted! I just want to get in and at this point I dont care how! lol

I know who your taliking about she told me that its completely fine to defer my seat and I did....my application status say : Decesion Defer

she also said that if I didnt get anything about orientation I should come by the office and sho the e-mail where she said that she defer the seat so I think im good

Are you all talking about BCC in Florida?? I remember the anticipation of "waiting".........seriously, enjoy this time! Once the program starts everything changes very quickly....as you can see it is midnight, and after waking up at 5:00am, I am still going. Coffee will become your best friend......there will be no time for a "life" outside of school, and you will feel like crawling into a small space just to get some rest.....and I am only in 2nd semester (if this is in Florida, I am a Nova student).......and every minute of this will be SO worth it :)!! Best of luck to you all!!!

P.S. I checked for mail.....I don't even know how many times while waiting for the letter! :D

yes tara84, broward college is what we are all talking about. the way u describe it makes it sound so brutal lol. but u do go to nova and i hear its suppose to be wayyy harder than bc!!

I just spoke to the lady at the health science addmissions department at central. She did say if you applied before May 15 you will know within 30 days if you got in or not!
