Broward College August 2010

Hello!!! Just wondering if anyone else has applied for August 2010 yet? :)

Yeah, I didn't have a life either during the first semester, but I have a lot more time now. I watch TV (a lot, lol), I hang out with my family and kids. But I do study and I have to manage my time. Some people even work while in the program.

They told us at the info meeting that usually within 30 days you have your email letter. Be careful on your email and check it regularly! They told us of a story that a girl was on vacation and didn't check her email. They give you a link and a deadline in that email to secure your seat. The girl missed the deadline by one day and didn't get it. :( Me... when the time comes I'll probably be checking every hour, lol!!

I have applied and my application is in review. When I went to apply at Central last week I was told that in a normal year they would have about 400 applications at this point. This year they had around 100. I think people either don't know or haven't passed the HESI. So I think that you should be fine :)

When you applied for the nursing program did they change your major to health service management? For some reason they did mine. I went on a chat with someone in advisement and he said it was a glitch and that once I get accepted (fingers crossed) they change it back. He said that if I am worried about it I could stop by admissions and ask them and they could reassure me.

Which campus do you plan to attend?

my major was changed to Diagnostic Sonographer or something like that I asked them about that and they told me not to worry about appreantly that was my major way back when I first started so once I applied it changed to that...wierd huh...lol anyways thats so strange that they only have 100 applicant but thats good for those who applied...I am planning on going to North campus I have heard nothing but good things about that campus....what about you ?

They change the degrees when they enter the applications in. I'm not sure why you can't be a nursing major when they do it, but for some reason, they said it had something to do with financial aid, whether you receive it or not, they have to change it. It will change back once you are accepted. If you're not accepted, and you want them to change it back, you might have to have it changed back.

I was changed to Health Service Management, too when I applied.

when I first got accepted it never changed :(

When was that? Perhaps they changed they way they do the applications now. Who knows. I know its strange that they do it this way, but don't worry. You'll get your "nursing" major back, and with only 100 students applying, I can't see how everyone won't be "accepted."

Thank you for your responses, makes me feel better :) I am still deciding between central and south. I've heard some stories about central that are making me lean toward south. I am about equal distance from both.

Sooooooo I wonder exactly how long it'll be before we hear... Hopefully waaay before the 30 days are up... Aaaaaand the obsessive email checking begins lol

lol! I am hoping that we hear way before the 30 day deadline too! Less applications than normal were submitted so hopefully they work through them quickly! :nurse:

Hopefully!!! Do you know what campus you are trying for yet?
