This is exactly why I am about to discontinue my nursing education. My first clinical rotations for the semester was on a medical/oncology floor. It has made me more afraid of dying and has messed me up emotionally. I think that I might work in a doctors office ( I am an RMA) and work my way to a management position. It really put a sour taste in my mouth, I don't know....I guess because my best friend has a very rare kidney disorder and my fiance has been a type I diabetic since he was 6 months old. I see his feet acting up now, and I don't know....it just breaks my heart because of what I have learned in school thus far.

I am about to enter my 3rd semester of nursing school, a BSN program. I am about to decide against going back. I have had several health issues start to pop up, I have major sleeping issues, and I am even starting to question my faith. I do not feel that this profession is for me. I get straight A's which does not matter, but I do know how to "think" and I am very caring and empathetic individual. I have the want to do good and improve peoples lives, but this has really had a negative effect on me. I think I maight say "goodbye" to the world of nursing!

A lingerie model:D, but if that didn't work out.....Nursing!!!! I am only a student.....which I feel like I will be a forever student. Oh, can we pick "lottery winner" as something we would like to be??

I am in nursing school, and have no idea as to what direction I want to take. I have tattoos, but they are covered by my scrubs. Honestly, Don't let something that can be covered up dictate which path you want to seek out in nursing......it is what YOU want......not the ability to show/cover your tattoos. :)

My GPA helped me to get into a competitive entry level BSN program. I worked very hard to earn those A's. In the prereq's that was all that mattered (and of course with understanding the material comes the high grades). Now that I am in the nursing program, I try not to focus on the "letter", but on how well I really understand the information. This information will be a big determinant for my success in the nursing profession. The great part about that is.......when you know the material as well as you should, you wind up with A's most of the time. Take a few breaths and a little time to play monopoly, everything requires some form balance :).

I am a current nursing student, and I do not feel for the CNA that could not take care of the patients most basic needs. No person should be laying in soiled linens, or have unclean sheets. If they need that much assistance with ambulation, and is "too time consuming" , then maybe that CNA should learn to prioritize. I would never let a patient be in that state. I firmly believe in thinking of the patient as your own family member or loved one. You provide them with the best quality of care possible! I feel so sorry for those patients that had to lay their and depend on that person! When I am a nurse, there is no way my patients will ever be treated that way. That's a shame .

I am in my second semester in an entry level BSN program. My schedule is: Foundations of nursing Foundations of pathophysiology Foundations of health assessment Problem solving skills/critical thinking Skills lab (10 hours a week) After these classes, I study an average of........about 20 hours a week, sometimes more My test and quiz schedule is heavy, tests and quizzes every week, sometimes two in one day, and unannounced quizzes (my fave )! It is alot of hard work, but if you are dedicated to learning all that you can, you will be fine. After all, If I was laying in a hospital bed I would like to have the nurse who absorbed everything he/she possibly could and studied their butt off!

During my prereq's I was taking five classes and kept my job as a waitress to 5 shifts a week, and did fine, I am a straight A kind of person:p. Now I am in an entry level BSN program, and I work 1 shift on Sat. all day. I am about to enter clinicals, but recently we have been having skills lab days, and with all of the other classes........it is very very busy and wearing. That is one whole day given up to work that I could have been studying. If you feel it becomes to "wearing" on you...maybe you could apply as a CNA after you have been in the program for a bit, and work part time, and try to get some financial aid, or loans. Trust me, you have the rest of your life to pay those back......but this is your shot at nursing, you really have to take advantage of that! Hopefully that helps some! I am currently contemplating my job , but it costs about 100$ a week for gas to and from school, so I am hesitant to quit.

Are you all talking about BCC in Florida?? I remember the anticipation of "waiting".........seriously, enjoy this time! Once the program starts everything changes very quickly....as you can see it is midnight, and after waking up at 5:00am, I am still going. Coffee will become your best friend......there will be no time for a "life" outside of school, and you will feel like crawling into a small space just to get some rest.....and I am only in 2nd semester (if this is in Florida, I am a Nova student).......and every minute of this will be SO worth it :)!!
