Broward College August 2010

Published

Hello!!! Just wondering if anyone else has applied for August 2010 yet? :)

Don't be discouraged...we hear something different every day...and the lady said they were accepting people until the end and until all the seats were full. I'm sure you will be fine. :)

Thank you for those words of encouragement:] I sure hope so! I have absolutely no classes to take in fall if I'm not accepted, so signed up for....art appreciation, etc....lol

I'm sure you will get in, but if for some reason you don't, why don't you take classes in the fall that you will need towards your bachelor's? I know BC is going to require algebra and statistics and a higher level English (1102, I think) for their bachelor's program. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about though!

I went to ucf for psychology, so I already have those classes. But definitely looking forward to bc offering bachelors degrees!!

I would assume that they will still go with a point system as they have always done since the drop out rate is so high. I don't think they will just accept "everyone" who submitted an application by the deadline. Maybe they will select a cut off number and then send emails to those above the cut off number. It just doesn't make sense to accept those with low points to have them fail and then they loose tuition.

You really can't say that, the drop out rate is high in every other semester even with only taking the people with high points. I think their just going to take it one day at a time and see what happens. I really don't think they know what their doing this semester!!!

They have always used a point system and they have not said anywhere about the fact that you will be judged on your points. This is something we have all found out the hard way. Unless you have at least 8 points its highly unlikely you will make it in. That's the reality. Those of us who have been applying many times already know this!:crying2:

Well, they removed the points breakdown from the nursing site. Who knows. There is still a minimum GPA requirement, so I assume they will still require that.

If there is no point system how will they accpet people??? First come first serve???

Unbelievable...they just did that today????? I was retaking a class to increase my points and now they change it! I was holding my application to submit with higher points.....this is crazy! What a waste of time and money. What will they do tomorrow. I guess I will submit everything tomorrow...and then resubmit again if they go back to the point scale.

u dont have to resubmit your application. i am doing the same thing as you... retaking a class to increase my points. the lady told me when i finish the class and have my final grade posted to go see her and she will update it in the system for me. she also said as long as its by the july 2nd deadline. but now that there is no deadline i gues its just wenever u finish the class and receive your grade.

No matter what BC does they are just going to make more and more people upset with all these changes. Well helpinghand28 hopefully you can get in and the change is to your benifit!!!
