Hello!!! Just wondering if anyone else has applied for August 2010 yet? :)

My concern is that if I wait...they may say they have filled all of the "eligible spots".....now I just don't know what to do...I'm going to the campus tomorrow to speak with someone!

WAIT!!!!! I just noticed this on the web page...they are still going by the point system!

"Admissions Procedure

Admission will be determined from a review of the applicants in the eligibility pool who have earned the most points by weight taking into consideration all the required admission requirements. All requirements are to be successfully satisfied for admission consideration."

So all those who submitted will be eligible...but then they will use the above procedure to determine who gets accepted!

That's the way it reads to me.....

I think the same way...They have to use a point system that's why no one has heard anything yet. I know because I applied for May and didn't make it. Lets say a person has 5 points but applied by May 15th. And then a person has 10 points but applied after that date..the person with the highest points has to make it in. Just because you applied early doesn't mean you can make the cut...I hope they use the point system because in that case it is first come first serve. And that's not fair to the ones who have worked hard for good grades.

Does BCC a permit HESI testing at other sites. Its a lot cheaper to take the HESI at FIU...please let me know

Well, I'm pretty sure you either take it at FAU (that's where it's cheapest) or another Elsevier testing site.

Best place is FAU.

I just spoke to admissions and she said the people who applied by the original deadline will be judged on one set of criteria (she didn't specify) and those that applied after will have a different set of criteria. She also said they are working on accepting people from the first group right now and everyone in that group should know anytime between now and Monday. She said application status will change and the email will go out no later than Monday (hopefully).

They are using GPA and HESI. Found out today.

Ok, if I don't have an answer soon, I think I'll go crazy!!! I'm glued to my phone, constantly checking my email, status, and this darned page!!!!!!

I just called the nursing office at Central & the lady said that the application deadline is July 12th & regardless of when you applied everyone will hear an answer 2 weeks afterward

I'm really annoyed now because I have until monday to let another school know whether or not I'm attending their nursing school & I applied to Broward in April, and the big factor is the cost... I don't understand why they're telling everyone a variety of things when it comes to decisions
