Just this morning i said they were in a sticky situation, Im thinking the HESI scared alot of people away from BCC and now they are trying to get their numbers back up . WOW
wow...this crazy...so im guessing that there is no point system anymore...do you guys think that maybe we should take the CEU classes ahead of time...I have a feeling they are going to have us do everything at the last minute...I was accepted in May but I defer my seat and when I went to the orientation there was alot of stuff to do from background checks, physicals,CEU I am wondering if thats enough time to get everything done...what about the people who cant find the money to do some of these things ASAP...WOW...this crazy
I took my CEU's online pretty much last minute. It didn't take long to do. You can do them all, I think, at CEUfast.com for like $30 total. The CPR will of course have to be done elsewhere. You can get started now if you want to, but I waited because they expired in 2 years, but starting in August, you will have a May grad date, so they will be fine.
Also, if they called you, lets say Aug 18th and said you're in, they're not going to expect you to have everything in by the 23rd. You'll have to have it done, at the very latest, by the time you're in the hospital, and that won't be until the end of September sometime. It might have to be in earlier, but they can't expect it that fast.
It won't take long to do the background check....thats online. Then there's the fingerprinting, which only takes as long as the line is. I think I was there about 45 mins, but if you get there when they open, maybe the wait is less. The physical is pretty short and you can just go to a walk in clinic, so that should be fast, too. They usually do them cheap, like $25-35. Then all that's left, I think....is the CEU's and CPR.
BC also has the CEU courses online. I've been taking mine the last couple of weeks. I have one more and then I'm done! I know they say not to take them until you know if you've been accepted but they fit my schedule so it made sense to take them.
The open ended thing tells me that they are afraid they won't get enough applications to fill the spots that they do have. They may not have to go on the points system because there may not be competition.
