Hello Everyone,
I am new to this site, but I've seen other threads for other semesters for Broward College. I didn't find one for August 2015. I figured this would be a good place to share each other's excitement to (HOPEFULLY!) start the program in August. Let's all support each other on this journey! :)
I was thinking the same thing, if they were at full capacity they would've stopped taking apps regardless of hesi. All the local colleges and universities nursing program accpetnce letters are done (including MDC). I'm just worried about having enough time to get everything done in time ( all the certification, shots, background, registration, pay tuition , books etc..) so many errands to get done before starting the program.
When I've gone through the message boards on here it seems that even people who get very low points get into the program. I can reason that if someone didn't get in they maybe embarassed or resentful and wouldn't want to post it, but I haven't seen that either. I will postulate that as long as you meet the requirements they accept you. They want your money in the long run.
Also, it's really intimidating to hear the classes start off at around 100 people and only 15 make it to graduation for all the various reasons so I can understand why people aren't applying.
So true! It makes me nervous to think about everything that needs to be done before the first day of class. Don't get me wrong, I would be so glad to do it because it means I am in the program. But time is definitely a huge factor for me because I am still working a full time job until August..
I think they have 291 seats but I hope this gives me a better chance of getting in. I thought for sure everyone and their mom would apply this semester. I am surprised they had so little applicants. In my anatomy class most students seemed deterred by Broward College because the associate and bachelor was seperate but right now I cant afford any other schools except MDC and BC. Sorry but this is good news for me. I really hope I get in cause I've always wanted to be a nurse.

hmmm, interesting theory. I guess that means more seats available for us, so that's good. However, it also means more wait time... I hope it won't be too much longer! Last year and the year before got their emails today, but you're right about the HESI downtime. Maybe an extra week or so?
