Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site, but I've seen other threads for other semesters for Broward College. I didn't find one for August 2015. I figured this would be a good place to share each other's excitement to (HOPEFULLY!) start the program in August. Let's all support each other on this journey! :)

Fundamentals of Nursing textbook.. Begin reading chapter 29 Vital Signs! The topics for Exam 1 are Vital Signs, Hygiene, Health Assessment, Documentation, Safety, and Nursing Process.. I still have all the Power Points from process 1 so give me your email and I'll send them to you (please be patient if it takes a while for me to send them) I'll also try to find the reading list with the chapters for the topics (some topics have multiple chapters)

The schedule doesn't tell you your clinical day, the first week clinicals is Tuesday AND Wednesday. Then the following weeks after It'll be either Tuesday or Wednesday (you will be able to choose)

Yeah my schedule said Tues & Wed they gave us a sheet where we requested the day and teacher we preferred. No guarantees of course but we were allowed to put in our preference.

Hello if anyone still reads this forum lol I was a August 2016 hopeful but received alternate seat pending with a 3.0 pre req and Hesi in the upper 80s anyone who got alternate in August 2015 did any of u actually get it ? Thanks

Hello,

I am entering the program for august 2016 and I am planning my winter break vacation, its probably a silly question but I just wanted to confirm that nursing students schedule adheres to the academic calendar, such as our break will be the same time as every other student? also were you expected to attend any orientation or anything before classes started back after break in january?

Thanks, i'm just paranoid that id miss something if i go away

I started August last year. Our scheduled start and end dates are the same as everyone else's (although nursing crams two different classes into one semester). Enjoy your break. You'll probably feel a little lost not having any reading assignments or studying for a test.
