Broward August 2015

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site, but I've seen other threads for other semesters for Broward College. I didn't find one for August 2015. I figured this would be a good place to share each other's excitement to (HOPEFULLY!) start the program in August. Let's all support each other on this journey! :)

Check on quizlet. That is what I used to study and I did well. As for how serious they take those scores, the people I spoke to at BC (one from North and a couple from Central) said that it is mainly your GPA that counts. You get points (up to 16 possible) for your GPA and the HESI they only really care that you scored the 75 or higher. They said the HESI will only matter if the need to break a tie for a spot. :) Good luck.

What day in August will the program start?

August 24th-Dec 15

Thank you so much! I hope I can retake it this time without a problem. I have used quizlet but only some words were actually used on the test. How did you guys apply without taking the HESI? They told me I couldn't turn in my application till I have passed my HESI if not I would automatically be denied.

They told me you couldn't apply without the HESI either. I turned in my application a couple of days after the HESI.

Hey another hopeful for August here. Lets support :)

So I spoke to the Health science department Alonzo and he said we will def know by 2 weeks. So keep checking those emails guys

I also heard that, South campus has this association with Memorial Hospital system in which you Pass the first semester, They reimburse you for it and will pay the rest of your education at Broward but you have to work for them for 2 years after getting the license. Is this to be true? Is this a scholarship of some sort?

I also heard It is true for Central Campus and North Campus when It comes to Broward Health Hospital System but I Know for a fact that one is a scholarship you must apply for

Wow they just gave me the news that the HESI exam program is down. Could be down till the 15th of this month. I really hope this doesn't affect my admission to the program because that's out of my control.

Just finished taking the HESI yesterday, thank god that's over! I was more nervous than I should've been. I will be dropping off my application tomorrow at Central campus. The gentleman I spoke to advised that anyone who wants to apply, to apply before Friday. Maybe they'll start making decisions as soon as next Monday (we can only hope)

Welll I cant wait to find out if I make it !!! I know I got to figure my work situation once I get accepted. Probably back to.work for an private ambulance over night to get through school . The struggles lol

Hey , brooke . I don't know if you got everything resolved but I do know that the HCP class is no longer a requirement for Nursing . So hopefully that helps .
