Brookhaven Spring 09

Anyone out there applying for the Spring 2009?

I'm applying for the second time. I applied last time to get the three extra points and this time I'll go crazy if I don't get in. -lol- I didn't expect to get in b/c I only had 20 points. Now, they decided to bring back the interviews! I'm scared to death of it, but all I can do is pray that they can see how bad I want this.

Anyways, just wanted to see if there was anybody else out there!

Question: How do they calucalate your points I'm somewhat confused about it. I'm looking to apply for the Fall 09 semester and curious as to where I could possibly stand going into apply.

I have a all my pre-reqs done as well as, A&P II, Micro, Dev Psyc, and I'm currently taking Spanish.

My pre-req GPA is a 3.57

My HESI scorce was an 85.6

and...I would get 4 points for having A&P II and Micro

and another 2 points for having Dev. Psychology and Spanish...

So what would my points look like, I'm some what confused on how to calculate them. I know your supposed to subtract 75 from your HESI score which would give me 10 points or so in that area, but I'm not sure how you get the rest of your points from your GPA...

I see folks on here with 27 to 31 points and I'm just curious as to how they get that number. If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm taking Patho, End of Life Issues, Dosage, and Pharm in the spring, did anybody have that schedule? If so, how did it go?

I had End of Life, Patho, and chemistry last spring... And the schedule wasn't bad. End of Life has a lot of stuff you have to do, but none of it is really hard. Patho has only like 3 tests and a presentation. I took pharm online and it really wasn't all that hard. But I've heard the actual class can be tough so just be prepared!

Thanks everyone! Congrats to those who got in. I think I am going to take my HESI over again and shoot for a higher score. I got an 85 without studying, so I'm sure if I study I can raise my points to about a 95, which would put me at 29.57 points if I get an average of 95. We'll see, I'd be happy with a couple points below, we'll just have to see.

I just really don't want to retake my English and Psych which is what I have B's in and I have A's in all my sciences, but it gives me a 3.57 regardless for my pre-reqs. But when I talked to Ann she did say that the average last semester was about 27 yet, it may be a little easier to get in because they will be accepting 80 students. I dunno.... :) I'm starting to get flustered at this point because I honestly really want to start no later than next fall. I've been going back and forth between options and I was originally planning on going starting NS at TWU next fall, yet I just realized I would be 6 hours away from 46 pre-req hours needed to apply. I've already been working at pre-reqs since last fall for El Centro's program but the way app periods are its hard to get everything in sometimes they way you want to. :uhoh3:

I wish I would have considered this program earlier though, I didn't realize it was only 16 months!! Its great. If I get in at the time I would like, I would techinally still graduate with my BSN a year later, which would be the same as if I started a BSN program next fall anyway. I get my ADN in one year, start working and get my BSN in another year. So simple. I also am very impressed with the 100% pass rate from the new grads. That's awesome!:yeah:

Thanks everyone! Good luck next semester.

My nerves are getting so bad right now. :uhoh3: -lol- I've been going over different scenarios in my head about how the interview will go but I have no idea what to expect. I've said it before but it's still in God's hands. I'm praying for those of us who have yet to go! Good luck Friday! Monday we'll know if we're in or not. It's coming so fast!

Try not to panic. Its not as bad as you think. Just stay calm and you'll do fine.:uhoh3:

Not bad at all. You're going to be nervous naturally but you get relaxed eventually. ;-) You'll be FINE. There were a total of 6 people. I was surprised at that...

Did anyone take AP or Chemistry at Brookhaven? I would LOVE some input on teachers. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

how long did it last?

how long did it last?

An hour. We would have been longer but we had a group right after us.

Thank God that is over. PHEW.
