Hi!
I can't seem to locate a thread regarding applicants for Brookhaven's fall 2015 nursing program... so I wanted to start one! If there is another, please redirect me- thanks!
I plan to apply in February for acceptance to Brookhaven's fall 2015 class. I am working on my dosage calculations course by 2/20 (cutting it close!) and that is all I have left! It looks like they changed the point scoring system since just a few months ago- did anyone see that? I am always looking for guidance and support in this process, so, I am hoping this thread can provide that for me and everyone else involved!
I look forward to virtually meeting other BH fall '15 applicants!
I have a question for my support group friends:) is anyone going to be using financial aid? I could use some guidance. Currently I use financial aid but I only get a little bit due to my income. Since I'll be quitting my job when I get into the program, I'm concerned about how much financial aid I'll be able to get since it usually references your most recent W2.. My 2014 W2 in no way, shape or form reflect what my income will be beginning (hopefully) aug 2015. So, I'm stumped as to what to do!! Does anyone have any insight or tips? Am I missing something?
@eelittle: You will most likely not get a grant; however, you will qualify for loans. You should get about 5k. You will have to pay for your classes in advance as loans do not come through until well after classes start unless the nursing program has something different in place for payment waiting until loans arrive.
Prepare your fasfa info as soon as possible.
@eelittle. Hey there! I sat next to you yesterday...we were the early birds! I joined to see what everyone is talking about and it has completely drained my confidence I must say. Some of the ppl with the same points as me have just completely resigned themselves to being alternates. Massive bummer bcs I felt so good about my chances.
That's about what I get now. I am hoping I would qualify for more since I'll have ZERO income until I can find a flexible job (which I have no idea what I'll find!) and need to live somehow! I'm so stressed about this part. Everyone says 'doesn't your husband support you? Can you move back in with your parents?' Well, I'm 31 and not married and even if my parents lived in Texas, I sure as heck would not be moving back in with them. Lol! I just wish I could qualify for a larger loan somehow but it sounds like it's not. gonna happen. Sad face.
