I can't seem to locate a thread regarding applicants for Brookhaven's fall 2015 nursing program... so I wanted to start one! If there is another, please redirect me- thanks!
I plan to apply in February for acceptance to Brookhaven's fall 2015 class. I am working on my dosage calculations course by 2/20 (cutting it close!) and that is all I have left! It looks like they changed the point scoring system since just a few months ago- did anyone see that? I am always looking for guidance and support in this process, so, I am hoping this thread can provide that for me and everyone else involved!

Yes!! I was there. I was thrilled to learn that I passed it the first time too! That was all I had left to do! I'm ready to turn in my app, so I went yesterday and they aren't taking them until February. So, I'll go back Monday to turn it in! So ready to be done with that part!
Oh yay! It's getting back to the exciting part again... and the waiting part again lol. I have to take mine one day this week, but with work I never know when I am going to have a chance to do it. I'll definitely do it this week though.
Same here with work! I am taking a long lunch to go today. I took last Monday morning off work to turn it in.. and when I got there, they said they weren't taking them until today and couldn't hold onto mine:(It was a bummer! And you're right- now we wait for sooooo long!
I am hoping to apply for fall 2015 at brookhaven. I have everything completed, but the hesi. I take it in a few weeks. I just passed my dosage calc test with a 95 on the first try. I hope to make the grade needed on my hesi to get in for the fall 2015. I am studying vocabulary at the moment. Then, I am moving to grammar.
Where did everyone take there hesi exam. I am going to take mine at Paris Junior College. I wonder if all tests at each school are similar, or does each school get to tailor the exam a bit.
Make sure you study conclusions. English is one of my strongest subjects but I had a humorously hard time on the HESI on the questions asking which conclusions I would draw from the excerpt it would have me read. I found that unusually confusing- probably because I didn't study that part in the HESI study guide, so I just assumed I knew what they were really asking. There seemed to be quite a few 'draw a conclusion' or 'what is the main conclusion or idea of this paragraph' questions. I was surprised at scoring lowest on that of all the grammar- you'd think it would be the easiest! LOL Luckily, it didn't affect my score too too much, but still, I would recommend paying a little more attention at that section than maybe you would think to. To answer your other question, I took my HESI at Brookhaven.
Okay - I have studied that and a bit more, so hopefully those words will be on my test! Hopefully, we will both get accepted for fall 2015. I know another girl that is applying as well. I will have to get her to join this thread, too.
