Nursing Students General Students

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to get a thread started for all of the BHC/MVC students; please help me get a support system going here. I am starting at BHC in Jan. 07 and would love to make contact with the other new students. It would also be great if the current students would join in too, maybe share some advise;) /horror stories.:uhoh21: I'm sure that you current students have a lot to say.

El Centro/Northlake has a couple of really good threads going, but it would sure be great to talk with those I will be going to school with too.

Good Luck to everyone!

Just a few questions about applying to Brookhaven/Mountain View... I plan to attend the infor session this month, but am anxious about a few things.

1) Does anyone know when the next deadline is to turn in applications and will it be for the Fall 09 entrance date?

2) Do I count my gpa in my points for admission - say a 3.0 counts 3 points? Is that how it works?

3) What do you suggest about taking Patho or Pharm first? Which one is more difficult?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!:specs:

I took them at the same time & did okay. I got an A in Patho & a B in Pharm. If I could have taken them separately I would have bc it is A LOT! I would have taken Patho first. I was trying to hurry up so I could have them both on my application.

Just wanted to say hey.

Hey all you new Brookhaven applicants. I am 7 weeks into my first semester, and 3 weeks into clinicals. It's scary, exciting and insane all at the same time.

Hope to see you all soon.

again!

Is it at all what you expected? Sounds crazy, but I'm looking forward to all those feelings! :specs: :banghead: :chuckle :typing *fingers crossed*

to those trying to decide when to take pharm...i would recommend taking it as late as possible. my rationale? once you get into clinicals you will want those drugs to be fresh in your minds. i took pharm way too early and had to really study up on them. you will need to know cardiac meds to a "t". i just wish i had waited a little longer b4 taking pharm.

good luck!

i need help! does anybody still have their book from pediatrics? i have been using the wrong book! i borrowed the book from the library because i didn't have my financial aid money yet, and it isn't the right book.

i have wong's nursing care of infants and children 7th edition and i am supposed to have wong's essentials of pediatric nursing 7th edition.

normally i would just buy the book, but i don't think i will get it in time because our test is on monday. (test 1 and test 2 are a week apart )

if anyone can help me please let me know! i would apprecaite it very much!

i will either buy it from you, or if you let me borrow it for 2 weeks i will give it back.

thanks!!

hi i used the same book that you have when i took pediatrics. i would not worry to much it was the only class that i did not have the correct book in (some classes i did have an older edition) the book that you have has the same information just different pages and chapters. i made an a in the class even with having the wrong book. good luck!!!!

Hi everyone,

I am starting the BHC nursing program this spring 09. Do I have to buy all the books during success camp and from the school or are there any recent grads that are looking to sell their books? Any hints/tips on how to save money (like best place to buy scrubs, etc.) would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks a ton ~

You don't have to buy them during Success Camp. I'm sure you could find them for cheaper. I will sell you my OB book if you want!

I thinking buying them used online would save you some money.
