Brookhaven Fall 2020

Hey everyone! I decided to start this forum because I am a current transferring Nursing student moving from AR to TX. I am in need of all the tea on the program and faculty. Please feel free to leave comments! I’m just trying to get all of my ducks in a row now. I hope to meet someone of you all along this journey!

Parkland has a program similar to a "Grow Your Own RN"-type program that's through Brookhaven which allows them to work at Parkland and sign a contract which says they will work for Parkland in exchange for Parkland paying for them to go to school. It's similar to Methodist Dallas and HCA (not sure if that program is still around but it was a few years ago when I worked for them), which is through El Centro, however, the difference is that Methodist students do their clinicals in-house (separate from the others in El Centro's cohort).

If Brookhaven doesn’t encourage working... then why would they encourage PCTs at parkland to work and go to school in this program?

It is also possible that those PCTs that work FT at Parkland that are in the program have been switched to PT or PRN. I wouldn't be surprised if they make them or they choose to downgrade to this.

What times did you guys had their interview are they sending the emails based on the time of the interviews?

I had mine Tuesday at 9am, there's another girl who had her interview on Tuesday at 10:30am, she still hasn't heard anything yet.
