Brookhaven Fall 2019

Published

Anyone applying for Fall 2019? I know it seems far away, but the application is due the end of Feb. It is best we begin to prepare now, especially those who need immunizations.

I need:

Critical thinking exam.

Retake Hesi for a higher competitive score.

Dosage calculations workshop.

I'm taking Chem 1405 and Phil 2306 this fall and Pharma in winter.

I'm still confused... you are trying to get into the Spring 2020 cohort (meaning you plan on turning in Brookhaven application in Fall/Sept 2019) ....

If you're trying to get into Spring 2020 cohort you need to apply for Summer 2019 at Texas Tech.... once you're admitted for Summer 2019 you're allowed to take CENP classes at Texas Tech for the summer... once you finish those two courses you can turn in your transcript (this is the key for advantage) from Tech with your nursing application in September to get advantage in ranking/acceptance....
That is ONE way to get into the pipeline program.....

The other way is:
Get accepted into Brookhaven Nursing program FIRST and be a CURRENT Nursing ADN student (no advantage over other applicants) .. apply to Texas Tech and then get admitted and then take CENP classes DURING your courses/clinicals in the ADN program....

If you make it into the Brookhaven program on your own without completed CENP classes that's GREAT!

But if you start Texas Tech Fall 2019... You won't be taking CENP classes until Fall 2019... . your CENP courses won't be complete in time for September application process.... and if you don't make it into the program in September for Spring Cohort.. you'd be in the application pool with Me for the following year (submitting your CENP transcript with nursing application in February 2020). Summer 2019 application means you want to be a Summer Student taking classes..

Edit: I was actually confused on the Dates to apply cause they offer so many Spring/summerr/18/19/20 on the application but when I called the ADN advisor person in February , he said Summer 19 was the correct to apply for.

That’s the plan Tharesa. I applied on 2/21 for the March deadline to take the classes in the summer. My deadline for Brookhaven would be in September so in order for me to put cenp classes on there, I had to apply by March 1 for Texas Tech. However, you don’t have to take both classes at the same time. You can take one then take the other after you finish the first class. Depending on if I can come up with the $2,000 they need for me to pay for the classes by then will determine if I can take both or only one at a time. I don’t qualify for the JP grant because of my grades.

I was told to apply to Summer 19.. so I can start taking my CENP classes this summer... (and take the other class next Fall) submit the classes with my application in February.

The deadlines I gave above were Texas Tech deadlines, not Brookhaven’s. Sorry I confused ya there! If you’re not applying to Brookhaven program until next year and you take your CENP classes this year, you’re good to go.

Lol, I know I'm good, I was just confused on the dates you said, but you clarified. We'll get results back soon on Tech Admission, good luck!

Congrats! I haven't heard anything, and my application status online still shows as "Submitted". I applied on 2/14/19. Did your email come from Karen?

I would email them. I emailed Gretchen Ruiz and Gabrielle Dunkerton (but she was out of office). I had an issue with my payment because my application was still saying that my payment hadn't been received. Within a few minutes, Ms. Ruiz had fixed it and approved my application.

I thought that application was due March 1st? That's what a recruiter told me. (but then again when I checked my application, it showed there was another application period)

They extended the deadline to April.

Texas Tech does rolling admissions, I applied later then you did, so I wouldn't expect to hear anything back too soon, plus they extended the deadline to April and it's spring break (woohoo! teacher vacation for me)

Have you applied to Brookhaven before?

Did they already receive your transcripts?

I saw that! They extended it to April 1, 19 which is great!!! No, I've never applied before and hopefully i'll only have to do it once lol

Yes my transcripts and my fee too and i applied later than you so yeah I would definitely email them. I know spring break is gonna put a wrench in getting a speedy response but still send it so that way she can have it when she gets back in the office.

Does anyone know when classes will begin, if accepted for Fall 2019? The regular Fall semester will begin on August 26. I'm wondering if the nursing program will be different. It seems unusual that they would notify us regarding acceptance over 4 months in advance.
