Nursing Students School Programs

Thought I'd start a forum for those who are applying for Brookhaven's ADN program Fall 2018. Has anyone started on these particular things? --->

-prerequisites

-HESI A2

-online nursing information session

-critical thinking exam

-dosage calculations class

I look forward to talking to those who are going to be applying. Hope to hear from you soon!!!

I am on my way to turn in my application. I will officially be applying this application cycle with a 36.03. I retook my Hesi this morning and got an 88.8; I got an 86.8 last application cycle and applied with a 34.03 so I am feeling really good about my chances of getting an interview. Last cycle it seemed the cut off was about 35 points so I'm excited good luck again to everyone.

That's awesome!! Congrats!! I'm so happy you did better! I'm sure that's a huge weight off your shoulders. Testing gives me so much anxiety!

Pretty sure Barbara said there were over 100 applicants last time. Crazy how competitive this program is but it seems worth the stress if you can get in lol

Good luck to us all!

Hey Guys,

I am going to apply in Spring 2019. I have taken most of my pre reqs from Dcccd and I one or two from Lone star Houston. And I also have education from foreign university, who do I speak with for the evaluation of transcripts?

That's awesome!! Congrats!! I'm so happy you did better! I'm sure that's a huge weight off your shoulders. Testing gives me so much anxiety!

Thanks yes it is a huge weight off my shoulders now I can just relax. I really like my chances of getting an interview applying with 36 points. Since they will interview and take 10 more than last application period. I hope I never have to see that HESI A2 ever again.

Finally submitted my application. Applying with 35.99 points. Good luck to everyone. Hopefully we all get in í ½í¸€

@muzna I'd reach out to barb. You may also need to provide your course descriptions as well. I'd email before going up there just to make sure you bring everything you'll need! Good luck!

So tomorrow is the last day to turn in our nursing application. This round it seems as if there aren't many applicants following this forum. Last cycle it seemed like a pretty good chuck of people. I hope the time passes it seems like this round the timeline is more spread out than last cycle. So that is going to make this process more dreadful lol. Well Great Luck to everyone!

I know! It's killing me. I'm so impatient. I just want to know already!

Same here, y'all.

I agree, it's going to feel like eons before we find out our denials/interview statuses. Realistically, I don't think I'm high enough in the point range but maybe I'll get lucky and be the cut off. lol

It's going to be a VERY anxiety ridden few weeks until then.

How many points did you apply with? I applied with 34.03 last application cycle and just missed the cut off for an interview. So remember this cycle they take like 10 more people than last cycle so they interview like 10 more people. I am applying with 36.03 so I really feel good about my chances. However I am still applying to Tarrant County (which I was selected as an alternate last time but never got the real call), and Mountain View. I want to make sure I start a program in the Fall but of course Brookhaven is my #1 pick. Also it could be a cycle where people just don't high scores things change and it looks like a lot of people chose to retake critical thinking and HESI and scored lower bringing their points value down.

I'm at 34.71, def sitting on that gray area. I think you're in a great position in terms of rank! Hoping that you get into Brookhaven! It's my #1 as well but I'm also applying to other schools for this fall term.

I will be possibly applying for the Tech bridge program if I'm still determined to go through Brookhaven but that means I won't start classes until spring.

Very true lol hopefully the variables are in our favor for entry into this program!
