Brookhaven College Nursing Fall 2018

Published

Thought I'd start a forum for those who are applying for Brookhaven's ADN program Fall 2018. Has anyone started on these particular things? --->

-prerequisites

-HESI A2

-online nursing information session

-critical thinking exam

-dosage calculations class

I look forward to talking to those who are going to be applying. Hope to hear from you soon!!!

I actually don't know. My friend said she talked to someone in the nursing office and they set aside spots for Texas tech applicants and then the ones who get accepted through the main process.

Thank you for the info.

You get accepted if you have the requirements for brookhaven and also the requirements for Texas Tech and you get accepted. The down side to the Texas tech class is that it is about $1500 for one class. It's insane.

So question if you already will have all you undergraduate prereqs done and really you are only needing the nursing classes can you still do the bridge program. Because I was originally going to apply at UTA so I have every done. Once I get into a associates program I will only be doing the nursing courses and then plan on doing one of the programs to be able to get my BSN as soon as possible.

I actually plan and just doing my RN to BSN through UTA tho since I have followed their plan since the beginning.

How is everyone hanging in there with getting your applications in and points values. This is going to be a long ride we are taking together and I hope that the ride continues for us into Fall 2018 and beyond. Hopefully I will be turning in my application on Friday!!!

If I'm understanding your question right, all the prereqs for a bachelors (if you don't already have them now) would have to be done before you take nursing classes through Texas tech. So it is like UTA but just through tech. I am currently taking both my government classes and then I will be done with my prereqs for my bachelors and after the program will go on to tech and get my BSN.

Good Luck with the application process!

Thanks and yes that is what I was asking because I thought that you were meaning that you were having to take your prereqs all at Tech Texas and that it was $1500 per class. But I think now I am understanding that the 1500 if for the nursing classes when you start the RN to BSN part thru Tech. I was just thinking about the cost wise and thinking that in order to be in the Tech program they were requiring to take the pre classes there meaning that since I was done with pre that they would not end up being an option, but now I am understanding what you were saying.

I went and submitted my immunization records today. Submitting my applications Monday. I must say this quite an anxiety inducing endeavor.

I landed in the 34's. Hopefully it's good enough to cinch an interview this application period. Turning in my packet tomorrow.

Stressful is seriously an understatement.

Fingers crossed that we all get acceptance offers to this program.

Which out of the two Texas tech classes did you take,if I may ask. Also, was it difficult to pass one or both of them?

I took Issues and Trends in nursing. And I got an A. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was. Lots of reading and writing. I'll take the other class in the summer

I turned in my application this morning and it looks like it's pretty competitive. I asked how many had applied so far and she said well over 50.

I am on my way to turn in my application. I will officially be applying this application cycle with a 36.03. I retook my Hesi this morning and got an 88.8; I got an 86.8 last application cycle and applied with a 34.03 so I am feeling really good about my chances of getting an interview. Last cycle it seemed the cut off was about 35 points so I'm excited good luck again to everyone.
