Hello everybody! I will FINALLY be applying for Brookhaven for the Spring 2020 entrance. I have watched previous forums to see what to expect and I'm excited but nervous. Are there any students here enrolled in the concurrent enrollment through Brookhaven and Texas Tech? I hope to hear more from you guys as we go through this process!

That's how I did it. I took it in mid January and scored an 86 overall but I needed an 80 on my math in order to apply to el centro so i had to retake it again. The other parts of the test I didn't have issues with because those are my strongest subjects-it was the math i needed help with. I looked at the files, refreshed myself on how to calculate math measurements and conversions etc (youtube was great for this!)...and I came back two weeks later and passed with a 92.4 overall (up from a 70 to an 86 on the math). So you can do it!
Thanks so much

You can either start the series over or try and get a titer. In many cases a titer will be accepted in place of the Hep B series.
Hey everyone, I took the hesi today for the first time. I made an 84 on practically everything. The math was so time consuming I began to get flushed and annoyed. I actually did it first but I may do it last next time; I'm not sure. I felt like I was rushing the rest. Finished at 12. I didn't really study consistently. I reviewed over the questions from the hesi Facebook group. I recognized a lot of questions. I know if I really study, my next go round I'm acing it.
Also guys what do ya'll think. I feel I have so much to do in so little time; I'm losing hope of applying for. Feb. deadline in 2020. It sucks though for me since they added extra classes from Texas tech to the ranking {only because I don't have any experience in Healthcare nor enrolled in the dual program yet to be competitive} . I'm thinking of just waiting till September 2020 deadline to apply officially since I still have [phed, hist. 2, gov. 1&2, stats, eng. 2] to go. That would give me another WHOLE Year to get myself together. ?
Those classes really don't count toward ranking, but it helps to have them finished. After December of this year I will be finished with all pre-req. and if I'm on top of vaccines, critical thinking, dosage calculations, and retake the hesi, I can apply. But will I be competitive enough. I know it's all about how I feel in my heart and my motivation to push myself. But getting a second opinion never hurted anybody.
Sorry ya'll for the long rant. ☺️
@CynthiaJ26 I commend you for working hard! Girls it’s not easy! And sometimes things come better when you wait. It won’t hurt to apply in February 2020 because you never know what could happen. If you don’t get in just apply in September. That year will go so fast believe me! You can do it you have your head on right and know what you want. Try to other schools also. Just not El Centro their program in my opinion is end soon or have a turn around on teachers and hopefully the dean! But anyway keep pushing and I hope you can get in. Also try maybe getting a job as a PCT to get some experience and extra the extra 2 points good luck ??? ?

Seriously, thank you so much for gently responding to me. I honestly felt bad about typing this. I felt like I was whining and wanted to delete it, but couldn't. You made me feel so much better. You are absolutely right. ? I was thinking about taking up a class over that time as a PCT or something to get me some experience. Everything you said truly confirmed what was in my heart, I was being too stubborn to listen. I'm going to take my time. That way I can prioritize my school work, get my sanity back and learn some patience in the mean time ❤️☺️. When the time comes I'll know and I'll truly be ready.
Yes, I saw El Centros pass rate, it's at a 84-87% I believe and the dean, from what I hear was not so nice. Mountain view and a couple of other far colleges were at a pass rate of 100. I'll Def. Look into other colleges as well.
Thank you again so much Jaye Seals❤️??. You guys have so much too prepare for and I wish you all well on your journeys. ?

Being a PCT does have its advantages but it doesn't necessarily bar you from getting a job if you don't have that experience. Even with me being a PCT, I'm going to be considered as a new RN. With that said, you do gain some experience from being around nurses. Some nurses will even show you things you normally wouldn't learn until you are well into a nursing program.
OAN: Don't feel bad about venting. I think a whole lot of us will be as it gets closer for time for us to apply. Does anybody know where I can get a physical but not through the doctor's office?
Since they added these Texas Tech courses, looks like I'm gonna have to rework a class in that I didn't want to but that's okay. Money matters won't allow me to take both TT courses this summer so I'm going to take one now and the other in the fall. Is anyone else taking the Texas Tech classes or having to repeat the 2nd support courses like myself? Has anyone else put their points together yet?
I will be applying for Spring 2020 as well.
Hesi- 92 overall
Will be taking dosage calculations exam this summer.
Just finished patho and pharm. Taking Micro and Philosophy this summer. Estimating to have around 30-31 points (as long as I can keep my grades up this summer). I seen that Mountain Views program was super competitive for Fall 2019 and the bare minimum is just not cutting it anymore. Maybe it will be different for Spring programs. Good luck to everyone!
