Hi everyone!

I graduated in 2006, took the exam in december and got my license in february 2007. i passed the CGFNS in the same year and had a 4 months training in a 276-bed capacity tertiary hospital. After that i worked as a customer service representative coz i felt like it would help me prepare for my IELTS exam which i did pass with a total bond score of 7.5, (no rating of below 7 in any subtest). I also have a dialysis training certificate and IV therapy certificate.

For 1 year and 2 mos i had been nursing a grandmother who had a stroke. I did the following tasks:

*IV insertion

*catheter replacement

*O2 administration

*suctioning of secretions

*V/S monitoring

*medication administration

*NGT feeding

*NGT insertion

*maintaining good/proper hygiene

*ROM exercises

I've sent a lot of applications to different agencies but it's either they accept my applications and make me wait for nothing or they tell me straightforward that they cannot accept me for i never worked as a staff nurse in a hospital for at least a year.

Does anybody here know any hospital in australia that hire nurses with the qualifications similar to that of mine?...

i hope that you read my post and take time to give any feedback.

thanks.

Hi everyone!

Does ACFE accept applications even if i only had a 4 months training?...

And what are the requirements and if you know any agency that could assist me?..

thanks :)

You must apply to AHPRA before you can even consider a bridging program, as per answer to your last post on another forum.

If the National board says you must do a course then consider looking for one. Apparently there are some bridging courses that take nurses with no experience......this said course apparently is one of them, much to my dismay (I believe professional nurses need a uni bridging course, not some private organisations business, money making)

So as they say don't put the horse before the cart, you need to be assessed first before looking at courses. Make sure you are from a known good school of nursing from the Phils as well, as this is now consideration with the National board.

one day only but it takes about a week or two before they send it to the embassy. so if you know what school your going to go to and what visa your going to apply. might as well have your medicals ahead:)

For those who have undergone the bp in VICTORIA, I would like to know where did you address your ACCEPTANCE INTO AN APPROVAL PROGRAM NOTIFICATION FORM?

At the bottom of the form it shows that the form should be submitted to NURSES BOARD OF VICTORIA ... but that was before they converted into the new board.

Where should I send this form? and when should this be sent to them? I hope you guys can help me :) thank you so much :)

Hello fellow nurses! :heartbeat

I feel so happy to know that I am not alone in applying for a BP. I also wanna share my experience. I registered with ACT Nursing and Midwifery Board and I am now registered but with conditions to undergo a bridging program. There are only two institutions I can choose from, The Canberra Hospital and VCHN. I had no choice but to choose VCHN since Canberra Hospital is closed. I then contacted VCHN and underwent the application process. The transactions were really fast, it was the money that made my application slow. Applying for the business visa 456 is not easy especially the access to funds requirement. It is important to show that you really can support yourself while you are in Australia. I am still awaiting for the result of my visa application, hopefully this week, the most until next week. I am worried because I cannot quit my job. The thing is, it should be a 30-day notice before we resign but I guess I have no choice because I need to be in Australia next month. :)
