hi newbie here..i am planning to go for La Trobe next year.. have you applied for your 575 visa yet?thanks :)
Hi, better to call them... I am applying on La Trobe now... before I have called them, they told me that the next intake will be on 2013.. Lucky someone sent me a msg that she can't go on Jan. so I might get that slot.. Hurry up mate I'm looking for filipino's who will study there... I think you should be on student visa I am not sure about that...
hey guys! im a newbie here too. i wish you guys can help me cause im really confused. ive read tons of threads already but some of them aren't updated and a lot of people are saying different stuff. im 22yo, RN in the phils with zero experience. im planning to go to la trobe for the IRON program too, but i dont know where and how to start. all i know is i have to register to the NBV first before i can apply for the bridging program.
questions:
-how do i register to the NBV and what are the documents needed (and do i give them everything at once?)
-do i need an agency to help me? can you guys give me a number or an email add if you know any??
-which is better (and cheaper), the IRON program from la trobe? or the BP in ETEA? deakin?
please help me?? thanks.

please read pag e 1 of New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2 - Nursing for Nurses
really is a big help.
register with AHPRA first (it'll take months), do some nursing experience if you can, give all the the needed requirements so as to prevent your application from stalling.
you don't need an agency to register to AHPRA and enrol in BP providers, you can do it yourself.
ETEA is $10900, the others i think are 10k

Aikes! yeah but do you know anybody who applied for 575 already?
Come across to think of it, if you are currently working as a nurse here in the Philippines with 2 years experience, why don’t u guys apply for Permanent Resident in Australia first as Skilled Professional (Nurse) and once you hold the permanent visa in your hand then go to Australia and do odd jobs like service crew at the restaurants or even cleaner so that you can save money for your Bridging Program. Remember you can live and work in Australia without restrictions because you are holding Permanent visa. You can even apply for scholarship through study-now-pay-later plan.
It’s quite cheaper though in applying PR visa.
COSTS FOR SKILLED MIGRATION – NURSE (Without Migration Agent)
IELTS = 8,700
ANMC Skills Assessment = 30,530 (710 AUD)
DIAC Permanent Visa 175 or 176 = 112,100 (2,575 AUD)
TOTAL = PhP 151,900
(Visa processing may take 6 months ONLY for State Sponsored - State Migration Plan Visa 176 go to DIAC sie for more info.)
COSTS FOR BRIDGING PROGRAM (Without Migration Agent)
IELTS = 8,700
AHPRA Registration - 4,945
BRIDGING PROGRAM (cheapest) = 516,000 (12,000 AUD)
TOTAL = 529,645
AHPRA Registration is a tedious one, and you have to wait for eligibility letter before proceeding to Bridging Program which requires you to wait for a long period of time for next intake/enrollment. What if your IELTS is about to expire with these step by step long procedures?
Taking bridging program with having short stay visa intensifies pressure in your daily life in Oz especially when your visa is about to expire and you have a lot of things to carry out like waiting/securing your license, finding employment and other stuff.
SORRY TO SAY GUYS, i’m not a nurse. I am just doing research on how to migrate Nurse to Oz as I am helping a nurse friend. Currently I got positive assessment as Computing Professional in Australia and im on my halfway through visa PR 176 application.
Cheers.
Note: Should you find my opinion misleading, please advise me so. Thank you.
