Bridging Program in Australia

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

You are a gem @simpleclaudia.

Everything you say is all encouragement and uplifting. It's an obvious reason why you are up there and yet your feet are still on the ground.

Hoping to meet you one day.

Wow, you've really had it done Sir. Do you have any idea if it will matter should I plan to take the serology tests at a different clinic to submit to ACN? I haven't processed anything related to my visa, and I thought St. Luke's and its satellite clinics only cater for visa applicants. :)

the satellite clinic is only for visa. you have to go to the main hospital building at BGC if you want to have the serology test.

It doesnt matter where you take the serology test. Its the results that matters.

@Krystellita.

It will save you a lot of time if you do the test in accredited clinics, results faster. But do ask your school if they will accept any clinic report of your serology. Otherwise, the one accredited by the Australian immigration in Cebu is the NATIONWIDE HEALTH SYSTEM CEBU INC, located in GF Gillamac's Bldg, 169 Sanciangko, Cebu.

You can always check the DIBP website: Welcome

This way you know you use the Australian accredited clinics.

Goodluck with you coming bridging course.

Thank you! :)

Hello!

Anyone here for Lonsdale July intake?

:)

Hi guys.. good day.. i just need an enlightenment about LOE from ahpra.. ahmmm.. what if the expiration of your loe is on march next year and your intake will be on feb next year, will it still be valid for bp? Thank you so much..

@Lucky_luck. Yes it is valid. If you go to AHPRA website and read about "recency of practice" it states at least 3 months of full paid work within 5 yrs or you can prove within 5 year you worked 480 hours of paid nursing work.

You can always find answers related to AHPRA on their website search.

Goodluck to your coming BP!

Hi.. thanks for the reply.... but Ahmmmm... i what mean is the letter of eligibility from ahpra maam.. they stated there that it is only valid for 1 year... what if the intake of the school is February next year? Will my LOE still be valid if the expiration of my LOE is on march of the same year? Thank you

@Lucky_luck. Aw, sorry! Yes. It is very much valid. If your BP starts in February and LOE will expire in March. I have a classmates about to expired her LOE by the time we started the course. She simply notify AHPRA and asked for extension of her LOE as she is already enrolled for BP and she is now working.

You will be fine.

Yes, I did figure Sir. I still need to wait for a few weeks to get my vaccines though, hoping to get in on the last intake in ACN for this year at least! Do kindly share your experience about the enrollment process Sir if you don't mind! Thanks for responding to my previous messages and best of luck!
