Bridging Program in Australia
@DJohn13. Do start reading from A then proceed to B-Z, meaning read AHPRA first and you will get the picture in how to proceed forward. Even by simply starting to check AHPRA form AGOS-40, you will not get lost. LOE- without this you can never proceed to bridging program. Again, all your plans begin with AHPRA. Goodluck.

@mekenimekenidugdugdoremi, BSN Of course you can submit your application. You can always get the booster doses here. What matter is you are negative from infection of hepB. You can always write directly to the school. Why would you allow this to impede your application? Instead of withdrawing, write to the correct body and address your concerns to them. All we can do here is suggest and answer what we know but remember, decisions made by the school is different. Do send ACN an email and have your answers. Goodluck!

@mekenimekenidugdugdoremi, BSN. The titer result for hepB antibodies should be 15 or more. If its lower, you may need a booster dose.

One question about insulin.
@John 2018. Lets not upset each other here. If your aim is to help us become wiser, don't you think its best to share your own experience in how you deal with nursing issues confidently at work for others to have insights too? We share answers here in good faith and not to put anyone down. As a nurse, working within a multi-disciplinary team, when we make certain decision either "delay" or "withhold" a medication, this does not mean we don't involve others. A prudent nurse would ask/refer when in doubt what action to take. I hope you achieved your aim to improve the public awareness of insulin administration safely.

@dreamlover93. Like what @cucci, BSN, RN said, its best to contact AHPRA either by call or web inquiry. I would say, invest some of your time by sending your inquiries directly to AHPRA and get the right answers for your case. In regards to your questions about me. I passed all the hurdles already and I am now working here in Australia. Good luck to your endeavors!

Ahpra registration
@jcborr. I am not sure but think about it. Isn't these institutions must send directly to AHPRA as instructed? And if you were given the original and took that responsibility to mail. Isn't it prudent to mail it separately as both are separate entity? Best to follow their instructions.

@Dreamlover93. Each country has its own nursing curriculum. Like you said. You have 7 years nursing work experience. All the things you mentioned will be assessed by AHPRA. Make sure you will supply them with complete documentations for the claims you made in your application form. Or you can send them a web inquiry about your doubts. How is your English language requirement? Did you ace it already? As this is one of the hardest part to meet for most international nurses.

@dreamlover93. I think no one can tell you of what the outcome of your application with AHPRA will be as each applicant is different. However if you read AHPRA requirements for registration application, they ask for recency of practice- means paid work. In order to comply that, its prudent to say try to secure a paid employment first. Most Australian employers prefers those with some paid experience too. When you are doing your Bridging program, the assessors don't expect you to act as a student but as a competent nurse with minimal supervision on the floor. And prior experience will give the confidence too. Safe medication administration is taken very seriously here. I met some students who cannot answer the "why" during assessment and failed the program. This is just an idea. Submitting an application to AHPRA is just one step forward. Preparing yourself as to what lies ahead is equally important too to be successful. But if you can finance yourself for further nursing education to qualify for registration is the other option AHPRA will refer you to if you do not meet the recency of practice requirements. In the end, we can only determine the outcome of our application if we applied for one. I wish you well.

@mekenimekenidugdugdoremi, BSN. Even you do. You are still required to submit serology tests results for the diseases you received vaccinations to determine if you have developed antibodies against the diseases. It is still prudent to check if you have developed antibodies for any of the vaccines you received in the past before going for another round of immunisation. Good luck

@jcborr. Yes, I am from the Philippines too. Most of my friends did our applications by ourselves- from AHPRA, VISA up to job applications. Its an exhilarating experience till now. More so when you started to build your networks. There is always a place for you in the nursing arena if you are persistent and resilient. You will be fine.

Ahpra registration
@jcborr. How to say it. AHPRA will assess your documents but if you have a complete application, its a straightforward process instead of pending to supply further docs. AHPRA do receive verifications in advance and file it, meaning you can requests your school and PRC ahead of time to supply the requested documents before you mail your application. By the way, if you read AHPRA and dowload the template. The address to mail your docs differs for school. Keep reading and you will be fine.

Ahpra registration
@jcborr. Hi, It does not matter which state you apply for registration. Once you have your RN registration you can always update your details with AHPRA and work in any state. You are right. It can be confusing and daunting initially but stay patient. My BSN transcripts are in A3 and I resize it to A4. Because we cannot presume the Why of it. All my resized documents were stamped on the front and even covered some sentences with the details of the notarial person. What matter most is the notary public/lawyer meet the requirements set by AHPRA that their name, designation, date, etc are clearly indicated. Like I said, sending the certified documents are not enough to meet AHPRA requirements. You need to dowload AHPRA template and instructions to give to your school registrar and PRC to send the original copy directly to required body for your registration. How is your CV? AHPRA set a template too. Be mindful that if you do things by yourself, follow the instructions in what you read. Your friend relies on her agent and with agents, you authorize them to transact on your behalf. So your friend's knowledge in the process may be limited. Many nurses are successful without an agent. But if you can afford one. There's nothing wrong to avail their service. Check AHPRA in how to apply and you will see that its not that hard after all. Before I submitted my documents, I made sure I ticked all the boxes required of me in the application form (AGOS-40). If you also ensure your verifications and Fit2work international police clearances are all done and forwarded before you mail your application, you will get the outcome in a month or within the set time frame of AHPRA. Goodluck to you. Asking questions is a good start to help you feel more confident in how you proceed forward. Stay persistent and you will get there in due time.

@jcborr. Hi! See. I did everything by myself and was successful. Its because I followed the instructions well. Why would you insist on what you see is correct when you are to obey simple instructions? Its the same on exams. Why would you insist A3 is the same as A4? Honestly, if I am the evaluator, seeing the size of your documents will automatically tell me you refused to follow simple instructions. With the volume of applicants, do you think I will look further into your documents? And it can reflect on you as a nurse. Would you insist in your practice that 2 ml of Morphine is the same doze of 1 ml ordered? Remember there are many ways to evaluate a person and 1 is how we follow rules and instructions. Surely you have read your application form before proceeding for notarial service. It doesn't matter where the lawyer put his stamp as long you know what should be in there, and its clear in the instructions what they asked to see for overseas notarial services. AHPRA is very specific in their instructions as well all other agencies. If you follow the A to Z what you've been asked to submit, you'll never go wrong. If you read things carefully. You will understand that AHPRA also requires you to request from your school and licensing body to submit verifications of your license and qualifications directly. You are also to submit criminal checks/police clearances. If you put things together. Original documents are required to verify your application. It doesn't matter where the lawyer stamped your copy. My advice to you. Don't intepret whats not there. Obey the instructions and you can make it sucessfully. I wish you well in your endeavors.

@Lucky_luck. Aw, sorry! Yes. It is very much valid. If your BP starts in February and LOE will expire in March. I have a classmates about to expired her LOE by the time we started the course. She simply notify AHPRA and asked for extension of her LOE as she is already enrolled for BP and she is now working. You will be fine.
