I'm looking for anyone who is applying to this school this year. Please let us know when you applied and any progress you make to getting accepted. Good luck to everyone!
I applied in early Dec. and decided to to retake the TEAS test before sending it for review. Form what I understand it takes anywhere from 2 weeks - 2 months to get accepted or not. Past experience has said more like the 2 months is the norm. I should be getting my results from the TEAS test today and it will be promptly moved to review next week (1/19/15). I will confirm the date when it actually gets sent.
I will update any progress as I get it.
I see this blog is winding down. I have followed the postings since the very beginning, and thank everyone for giving me so many answers to questions without having to ask. However, I can see there have been limited postings over the past week or so, which means that most have already been notified. I have not heard anything, good or bad. My Disposition has yet to change, it still says application under review - 3/3/2015. I have been hesitant to call, as I initally felt that no news was good news. As that has not been the case for me, I am still hopefull. After returning to school in 2011, I have taken all the pre and co-requisites required for most nursing programs and have had three failed attempts at getting in to a program. I was waitlisted two years in a row at GCC. The first time at numer 12, the second time 6. I also had a failed attempt to get in to BHSON in 2013. That was deifinitely at the expense of the TEAS grade I received. Since then, I have continued to take the TEAS to get my grade up and have done well in all the other coursed I've taken thus far. My references came from an alumni of BHSON, my Micro professor, and Office Manager. My essay was percise and to the point as to why I felt that my own personal and life experiences would make me a good nurse. Whatever my decision letter says, I can honestly say that I am proud of myself for the accomplishments I have made and for the simple fact that I have stuck with what I started. In the very beginning I felt so out of touch with reality being in a classroom full of strangers after being out High School for twenty years. Like most of you, I made a lot of sacrifices, both, financially and with my husband and children to begin this lengthy process that I pray will turn out the way I've planned. Hopefully it all pays off!!! To those who've made it...Congratulations!!!! To those who didn't....don't give up!!!! To those still waiting....keep the faith!!!
Hey guys so I've been away for awhile, thought I would update you all! So after a LONG month or more of waiting (being waitlisted) I received a call this morning that I have been ACCEPTED! I'm soooo EXCITED! It's definitely been the hardest thing by far (waiting for a definite answer from BHSN) and finally I feel so relieved! I'm so ready to meet all of you, and to start this new chapter!!!! :)

Any info about the diploma program now being offered at Bridgeport University? Think the program will change? Think it be a great time to make it an accredited associate program. Maybe offer an accelerated ADN program and a part time day and evening program. State really needs a program like that here.
