I'm looking for anyone who is applying to this school this year. Please let us know when you applied and any progress you make to getting accepted. Good luck to everyone!
I applied in early Dec. and decided to to retake the TEAS test before sending it for review. Form what I understand it takes anywhere from 2 weeks - 2 months to get accepted or not. Past experience has said more like the 2 months is the norm. I should be getting my results from the TEAS test today and it will be promptly moved to review next week (1/19/15). I will confirm the date when it actually gets sent.
I will update any progress as I get it.

I was hoping someone would make this a topic soon :) I am in the same boat as you! I started submitting pieces of my application in October but just took the TEAS test (for the second time) on thursday (guess we were in the same room)! My score is up on ATI website but not put into the BHSON system yet. This is my first time applying.
Hi bwork, I was the chatty one with the gentleman to my right. Good luck to you. let me know any changes in status.
My status just went to "Application Under Review" today. And now the waiting begins.....

BHSON is def hard school to get into! I don't know why they make it so competitive its only 2 years of RN. I feel like they don't take right people. Why do they ask you to submit essay about yourself and a picture (GO FIGURES). They definitely judge book by its cover! WILL NEVER APPLY TO THIS SCHOOL!!!
Hi nicenurse1, LPN,
I understand your frustration. The process for this school is different but I actually think it's better than out local community schools. At least they take into consideration other factors other than grades. I'm not the best student (3.3 GPA) but I have many years behind me of helping people and a proven background with responsibility, compassion, management skills..... Anyway, the community schools only seam to care about the grades. Not that that is not important but I have met many smart students who have no idea what it takes to care for someone, understand commitment, and to be honest are flat out A$$ holes! but good grades get them in. My feeling is that the CC schools just want a high graduation rate as a nurse so they can say they have the highest rate in the state.
I asked about the photo in the application. They say it is for identification because they used to do interviews back in the day and they used the photos to be sure it was the right person, they just never changed the policy. Also it was a great way to be sure the information went to the right folders when collecting paperwork from people. I never got the impression (in my opinion) they used it to weed out people like you imply.
I wish you the best of luck in getting your RN in the future. Let us know how you do, and update us on the schools you have applied for.
FYI: they no longer ask for photos.

Coachremson,
How did your TEAS exam go the second time? Did you find it easier? Did you do better?
It was easier the next time however I always stumble on the math I actually ran out of time AGIAN! (I had to guess on 5 questions) The other subjects I did well and in plenty of time. With that, I fell short of my goal (70.0) with a 68.3. I hope that will do as my grades, references, background, and essay are much better. only time will tell.
That's okay, you did a great job! What matters is that you retook the test and did a lot better. That speaks volumes. 😀 They look for things like that.
I'm super nervous all over again. I'm taking it Feb. 26th. I don't really know how to study for it.
