Bridgeport hospital school of nursing fall 2015

Published

I'm looking for anyone who is applying to this school this year. Please let us know when you applied and any progress you make to getting accepted. Good luck to everyone!

I applied in early Dec. and decided to to retake the TEAS test before sending it for review. Form what I understand it takes anywhere from 2 weeks - 2 months to get accepted or not. Past experience has said more like the 2 months is the norm. I should be getting my results from the TEAS test today and it will be promptly moved to review next week (1/19/15). I will confirm the date when it actually gets sent.

I will update any progress as I get it.

Redmm74 Thanks for the shout out.

To expand on Redmm74 - We need to stick together to help each other through tough times and be able to count on a hand when needed. I hear stuff about competitive, nasty all for one attitudes in nursing. We will all go in together and we will all graduate together lets make it fun and help each other out. I for one want to make this the best experience of my life.:D

Well said Coachremson!!! I agree with you 110%. Can't wait for this journey to begin! Sending luck to all of those still waiting to hear back!!

Note to all that has been excepted. I'm trying to friend you so we can communicate when orientation gets closer. I'm not stalking you! LOL:up:

Thanks for the update Annamariefranco!!! That keeps me a little calmer! Lol

3 days and still no letter! What a tease this is! Lol

No mail today right? you will get it tomorrow I'm sure

Got mail, just no letter unfortunately..the wait it killing me! Lol

Hello everyone, have anyone else heard something or got a status update online? I haven't heard anything as of yet.

.... Still waiting as well, no change in application status, doesn't even say under review yet í ½í¸’ just TBD & not enrolled. I still check my mail as if I will recieve a letter before they even update. Can't be much longerrrrrr!

I also still have to take AP2 & micro so I have applied to St. V's as well, but BHSN is definitely my first choice. Concerns me that you only need a 56% on TEAS to get in there. Seems really low for an RN program. I know that's what they require for an LPN Program. But I did hear St V's has gotten better recently but I would hope to be admitted directly into the program, not the pre-nursing. Any idea on the lowest TEAS scores they have accepted at BHSN? I did only score a 73.4% my first time taking it but if denied, will probably re-take for a better chance next time. I scored the highest in the science section (hopefully they take that into consideration) & did run out of time on the math section with about 8 questions left.

No change yet. Still under review! I was told by a friend who was recently accepted to bhsn in Feb. that they require a 65% on TEAS. Not sure if that's correct, I've followed other previous blogs and honestly there was a wide range in scores from 64's and up. So like I said Im not positive on what the actual TEAS V requirement is. I'm hoping and almost certain that they take everything else (essay, references, and nursing gpa) into consideration as well, as the staff have mentioned theirselves.

Thanks! Yea I try to keep track of people's stats that have been accepted, haha but seems to be all over the place but like you said I do think they take everything into consideration not soley based on a TEAS score! But keeping fingers crossed and anxious to hear something!

Honestly, I think it's typical that most programs say only 53 on teas are required. St. V's is 57%, Norwalk is 53.5 and so is BSHN. But that's only what they say as required to apply, it's recommended to score higher but you must score that or above to apply to any of the programs. However, I believe if you get the bare minimum for any of the programs that wouldn't accept you. If you talk directly to bhsn they will say no score is passing or failed just aim high, but 52 or lower they will automatically reject you or not even accept your app. NY schools require 58 as the minimum to apply some even say a 65. I just applied to St. V's as well in hopes to get into their direct nursing instead of the pre-nursing. I completed all classes required, but would have to take a&p1 & 2 over as well as micro because they don't accept transfer credits for those courses and heard the exam to test out is extremely hard, they only have a 2% passing rate on that test.
