  1. Hello All! I'm currently in my last mod of the LPN program at Porter & Chester Institute. As I do want to work as an LPN to gain some experience, I'm interested in finding out more information regarding bridge programs to pursue an RN degree. I've been checking into the community colleges in my area (Gateway CC, Norwalk CC & Housatonic CC). I've completed most of the required pre-reqs with the exception of A&P 2, I've been taking a variety of classes at HCC since I graduated high school, and I'm now 27, so unfortunately my grades are all over the place (A's, B's, some C's) and unfortunately some withdrawals and lower grades due from not continuing to go to the classes due to personal reasons. I've taken both biology and chemistry multiple times with a final grade of a C+, I got a B- in both Microbiology & A&P1...I'm concerned that the grades from my past will keep me from getting accepted into a program. My LPN grades are straight A's/ 4.0 GPA, but I've heard the LPN transcript isn't taken into much consideration will the acceptance process. My TEAS scores have been above the accepted average as well, I believe a 70 & 74 both times I've taken them. Just wondering if anyone could share any of their experiences/grades going through a similar situation? Or any suggestions of helping my chances? Thanks So Much Nurses! :)
  2. Just called and they said to give it a couple more days, they sometimes don't send out the letters when it changes online and since it was good Friday last week that could've delayed things. This process is really teaching me patience! Haha
  3. Still no letter! Said it was sent out on 3/31..if it doesn't come today I'm gonna try and call. It's been a week!
  4. Got mail, just no letter unfortunately..the wait it killing me! Lol
  5. 3 days and still no letter! What a tease this is! Lol
  6. I'm sure yours will change soon! Mine was under review not much after yours, it's felt like an eternity! Orientation is in June so I'm assuming they're gonna looking at more files now that it's getting closer to the end. And I thought I was a nervous wreck before waiting for the disposition to change, now waiting for the letter to come is even more nerve wracking!
  7. My disposition finally changed to decision letter sent!! So anxious to get the letter!!! how long did it take all of you to receive your letters after your status changed?? And also for all of you still waiting, a friend of mine is currently a student and she asked about the "Accepted" change as well as the list being added on the checklist and it was a glitch that should be fixed, so now I must wait for the letter to find out my fate!
  8. Congrats to everyone who got in! Just curious for those of you who have gotten in contact with BHSN, do you know how often they look through the applications? I submitted my application in October and everything was submitted after I took my TEAS test in January. Application went under review on 02/04. I'm getting worried because I've seen so many people get accepted already and that I must be at the bottom of the pile and just wanna know before I register for A&P II summer class! Just curious what they're saying at BHSN! lol
  9. Hey everyone! I'm new to the site but have been following for quite some time just to get an idea about when people were receiving their letters. I sent my application back in October 2014 and everything was completed by the end of January and took the TEAS at the end of January as well. My application has been under review since 02/04/14, I've been anxiously awaiting for the disposition to change or magically receive a letter in the mail. Congrats to all who have been accepted! I had a question with regards to the nursing gpa? I've seen it on a few posts, what is it?
