What are your breakroom or break time pet peeves? I bet stealing people's food is on top, but there is way more. I'll give mine to start:

1. There are a few chairs, to begin with, in the tiny breakroom. Your Target backpack DOES NOT require a chair. Put it on the floor or leave it in the car.

2. Headphones were invented I think in the 80s. I don't want to listen to your phone calls, music, or Youtube videos. Read or buy some headphones for 99 cents.

3. If you see me with my headphones or my face in a book that is a clear clue.

Wanna bet that that Doc dude would 'raid' the empl refrig also??  Figuring no one was looking, empl meals/items (even if labelled) would be cannibalized.

It's very distasteful when someone uses the bathroom to do 'stinky business using the nearby empl bathroom. It's one thing to just pee, but the if there's gassiness. Then if there's more 'solid business' to be managed .....

Hey, I know 'when you gotta go, you gotta go'. But some attempt at avoiding the BR at such a prime time is greatly appreciated.

Those folks need to invest in Poopourri

God, you are so dedicated to your patients. You’re clearly a superior nurse to me. I’m ashamed to admit that I leave on time, too, almost every day, to go home to my family.  But thank you for reminding us how a REAL nurse should act. Martyrdom all the way!

Working breaks counts as a break.

Yep----and just think:  this "type" has access to a breakroom JUST for DOCTORS full of food and drinks---- yet I would not put it past him. People did complain of their food disappearing routinely. Who knows, maybe he felt entitled to that too, in addition to hogging our breakroom as his personal sleep room. He would be the type. I did see doctors helping themselves to our pizza during our occasional pizza parties. It would be nice to ask and then again, you have access to free food in your special doctors-only breakroom. Leave our food and breakroom alone. It's all we have.

Please, NO Maury Povich or Springer on the TV. We actually blocked that channel cause the noisesome idiocy drove most of us nuts.

My hospital got a new channel line that include a couple of premium channels. Well after midnight the ?? Late Night shows came on.

"Mr. Powers (first name Austin) is watching Media in room 69B"

Since some of the patients were HOH they had the volume up LOUD TOO. Once we told admin they cut those channels out. We still get the premiums, but not the ones that have late night entertainment.

OMG that reminds me. In a dialysis clinic I once worked at,  someone was watching a totally R rated movie (forget the name). People were freaking out all over cause there was absolutely partial nudity and even though you could not hear the TV anyone could see what was going on ( a sex act). We had to block that channel PDQ.

That's so bizarre that he would rather sleep out in the open in a random break room than in the privacy of his office!  Good on you for not caving to that nonsense.

I walked in on a doctor napping when I went to do Manikin Skills test. I was told just to carry on. So I did.

We had to put a lock on our breakroom after a patient went in and had themselves a feast. The patients was very sweet, but seriously, you get served 3 meals a day and you want raid our lunches.

EWWWW worse than the food being gone; INFECTION anyone? GROSS.

Here's a peeve: when people jump into a private conversation as if it a forum like AllNurses. I've never did this, but we did have this coworker (Not a nurse) who would do it to nurses on their break all the time. No this person wouldn't politely interrupt either. This person would just opinion BOMB. Lot of eye rolling, it was their nature cause the coworker would opinion BOMB doctors too about their orders.

Then the computer wouldn't of registered as credit. I could however asked the doctor to do the bag while I did the compressions.

"Excuse me? Excuse me" "Yeah make sure you do 2 squeezes on the right count. I have to get this in"
