BRCC's Nursing Program

You are reading page 2 of BRCC's Nursing Program. If you want to start from the beginning Go to First Page.

I'm currently in the nursing program and honestly the math is not HARD. If you can do simple math, subtraction, multiplication and division, you should pass it. If you don't pass it the first time, they give you 2 more chances I think. However, most of the class passed it the first time.

i've applied as well for the fall 08, is there anyone in the program right now.

so how is the program are the nursing classes hard, are the clinicals hard and i have heard so many rumors about you guys losing so many nursing students is there any truth to that. sorry to be asking so many questions i just curious about the overall program.:heartbeat

Ms. Kay send me a private message and I'll tell you more about the program.

hi i just started on this website so i am still trying to learn how to do things on this website, so can you please tell me how to send you a private message:heartbeat

I Figured It Out Like Duhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am thinking about applying 2 the nursing program at BRCC, but I'm not sure. I heard half of the students failed in one class, and now they are taking the class again with the same teacher. Does anybody no what's going on:confused:

hi i am actually not sure on what is going on there i did not get into the program,:nurse: i am applying other places due to the unorganizational place it is.i have heard the program is tough but still a good program i don't know anything about the students failing and taking the same teacher over.

I took my pre-reqs at BRCC, and we lost at least half of my A&PII class. Most of the students had too many other commitments with family and work to devote the amount of time needed to do well in the class. BRCC doesn't require you to take A&PII until you're accepted into the nursing program, so I hear many students find it nearly impossible to study for A&PII and for their nursing courses. When I took A&PII, we started with 30-40ppl, and by the final, there were about 12 left. One A, about 4 Bs, a few more Cs, and the rest were praying to pass. I suspect that anatomy class is one of the major reasons we see nursing students having to retake classes.

I'm taking a&pI this semester and i plan to apply to brcc, olol and su in the spring since i took the other prereqs. My friend at su said one of the teachers at brcc was fired from su and olol becuse to many students failed her classes.

although the A&PII class was difficult, it wasn't any more difficult than the other Biol/Kin classes I took at LSU. I thought the tests were fair. :twocents:

my grade in a&pI is a B right now, my friend was talking about a nursing teacher who got fired form su and olol. is that true?

I am a student at BRCC also...curious if you could send me a private message of the teachers name. Many new teachers have been added this semester. A heads up for studying is greatly appreciated :)

Is it true BRCC lost their nursing dean and the program can not get accredited? What will happen if I get accepted in the spring, can I work as a RN?

i would like to know that also, because i am re applying for the fall of 2009.

eyespy i would like to know where you heard that because, dosen't that mean that the students who are graduating are not going to be able to work at certain places do to it not being accredited, i heard that some places don't hire you unless you have graduated from a accredited instituition. some one who is in the nursing school please clear this up for us.

I have not heard that info hmmmm.....

Please let me know where this info came from; I need to investigate. I graduate in 7 months!!!

Also who was the teacher that your friend told you was fired from OLOL & SU? I haven't heard that one either

I heard that from my mothers friend who teaches at OLOL. She said I should apply at OLOL because BRCC doesnt have a dean. But OLOL cost to much.

She told me about the teacher who had problems at OLOL and SUBR because students complained that she talk down to them, and to many people failed her test.

from what I am aware...the dean we had stepped down and has been replaced. I don't want to post names on here. (just out of respect for the person)

Curious to know about the teacher that was fired...can you pm me their name. Would like to know what class I need to be careful with my studing habits in. If the teacher is super hard...I'd like to know.

thanks

THE CURRENT DEAN HAS BEEN REPLACED RIGHT, I SPOKE WITH ONE OF THE NURSING INSTRUCTORS MONTHS AGO AND THEY SAID THAT IN ORDER FOR THEM TO HAVE ACCREDITATION THE HAVE TO HAVE AT LEAST 1 YEAR WITH THE INSTRUCTORS AND THE DEAN MUST BE THERE AT LEAST 18 MONTHS, SO WHAT HAPPENS?:cry:THE NEW DEAN WHO TOOK THE PREVIOUS DEAN SPOT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THERE 18 MONTHS WHAT HAPPENS?
