Southern University Baton Rouge
i don't know what southern use to be, but their nursing program now is awesome!!!!!!! i graduate in december and i absolutely love suson, i feel like i am well prepared to go to work TODAY! They have made a few changes but it is definately for the better. we got nursing school of the year last year, and i am sure we will not be short of it this year. great, great, great school, yes it is very tough but, i promise when u walk on a unit u will definately know a southern university grad from any other nursing school.

BRCC's Nursing Program
good luck to u as well jackie brcc, i worked very hard myself with making a 94 on the hesi and having a 3.7 gpa and i was finally excepted after my second try, and that was after i got my letter from southern. i have a friend that is a lpn that just left brcc program because she said they are very unorganized, the only reason i sympathize with the people that are upset about brcc program is because i went through the same thing, but i hope u do well and good luck!!!

BRCC's Nursing Program
i went through some of the same things u guys went through with brcc program, i finally got fed up one day and applied at southern university because i had all the prereqs anyway, and i am so glad i did, i have a year left, i will be graduating from an accredited college next year with a bachelors degree, so i say to all of u that have all of ur prereqs i would fly to the nearest next school because brcc is full of bull.

olol asn program (traditional)
yeah at brcc it is very competitive mainly because they base their gpa on 5 courses which are A&P1.english, college algebra, psychology and an elective and the hesi test. people really do real well in those basic courses mainly because they are very basic and the hesi test is very easy. for example: if you took all your prereqs at brcc and made at least a 3.6 in those courses, made at least an 84 on hesi you are almost guaranteed to get in, on the other hand, if you are a student coming in from another school who have a 4.0 in those courses and never took a class at brcc your chances are slim to none unless you score real high on the hesi (like 95) thats how they look at things at brcc, its made very hard because the classes they are looking at almost everyone made at least an 3.5 and thats what makes it so competitive, i actually got in at brcc and southern for fall 09 and i chose southern so that i could get my bachelors, i recommend applying other places because disappointment is a general outcome when trying to get into nursing schools, be patient, be ready and most of all dont give up, your time is coming trust me!!!!!!!!!!

olol asn program (traditional)
why dont you apply at southern university or brcc, i am currently in southern university program and it is awesome, dont get me wrong it is very challenging but i feel like southern's going to give me everything i will use in the real world just a thought, try to take another approach hopes this help.
