  1. It's only a 2.6
  2. i don't know what southern use to be, but their nursing program now is awesome!!!!!!! i graduate in december and i absolutely love suson, i feel like i am well prepared to go to work TODAY! They have made a few changes but it is definately for the better. we got nursing school of the year last year, and i am sure we will not be short of it this year. great, great, great school, yes it is very tough but, i promise when u walk on a unit u will definately know a southern university grad from any other nursing school.
  3. good luck to u as well jackie brcc, i worked very hard myself with making a 94 on the hesi and having a 3.7 gpa and i was finally excepted after my second try, and that was after i got my letter from southern. i have a friend that is a lpn that just left brcc program because she said they are very unorganized, the only reason i sympathize with the people that are upset about brcc program is because i went through the same thing, but i hope u do well and good luck!!!
  4. i went through some of the same things u guys went through with brcc program, i finally got fed up one day and applied at southern university because i had all the prereqs anyway, and i am so glad i did, i have a year left, i will be graduating from an accredited college next year with a bachelors degree, so i say to all of u that have all of ur prereqs i would fly to the nearest next school because brcc is full of bull.
  5. independent rn did u go on your interview yet at wellstar and if so how was it and when do u start there, i am trying to relocate myself to the mariett area.
  6. yeah at brcc it is very competitive mainly because they base their gpa on 5 courses which are A&P1.english, college algebra, psychology and an elective and the hesi test. people really do real well in those basic courses mainly because they are very basic and the hesi test is very easy. for example: if you took all your prereqs at brcc and made at least a 3.6 in those courses, made at least an 84 on hesi you are almost guaranteed to get in, on the other hand, if you are a student coming in from another school who have a 4.0 in those courses and never took a class at brcc your chances are slim to none unless you score real high on the hesi (like 95) thats how they look at things at brcc, its made very hard because the classes they are looking at almost everyone made at least an 3.5 and thats what makes it so competitive, i actually got in at brcc and southern for fall 09 and i chose southern so that i could get my bachelors, i recommend applying other places because disappointment is a general outcome when trying to get into nursing schools, be patient, be ready and most of all dont give up, your time is coming trust me!!!!!!!!!!
  7. why dont you apply at southern university or brcc, i am currently in southern university program and it is awesome, dont get me wrong it is very challenging but i feel like southern's going to give me everything i will use in the real world just a thought, try to take another approach hopes this help.
  8. that's great i am happy for you.
  9. thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. can someone please help i have heard such sad news about the nursing jobs, please someone with some positive insight on some things.

  12. i am thinking of relocating there, have you had any luck, with finding something i know it's been a while since you posted this just curious if you found something, so i will know if i need to get more experience before relocating.
  13. hi i am thinking about relocating to the atlanta area, and i wanted to know what are some safe areas to live in also what hospitals are clinics to work that offer good incentives, the starting pay for rn's who have their BSN with about 2 years of experience. I almost forgot, lol! my last question how hard is it to get licensed in georgia from another state. if someone could assist with some of my questions i would greatly appreciate all the help, thanks in advance.
  14. that's great i am going to send you a pm.
  15. what semester are you in baton rouge 09 nurse?
  16. this is what i know for sure about the transfer courses, you have to take the organic and bio chem @ su because it is not offered @ brcc and the same goes with the nurs proc1
  17. you are welcome, if i can do it anybody can, don't get discouraged you can do it.
  18. oh i almost forgot, lol! if it has been over 10 years that you have taken the courses at brcc and southern university the courses have to be retaken this is info from a while ago i think it changed to maybe 7 years but not sure. you can probably call brcc @ 225-216-8000 and su @ 771-4500
  19. southern has a lot of courses that you have to take there one of their courses is nurs 200 which is nurs proc 1 and the other is organic and bio chem. their application date has already pass but you can get info about the classes for the spring 2010. they take about 60 students every spring and fall i think the gpa last semester to get in was 3.2. hope i've helped a little.
  20. Girl Don't Get Nervous Hopefully This Is Just A Rumor And You Are Good To Go, But I Would Definately Find Out What The Deal Is.
  21. THE CURRENT DEAN HAS BEEN REPLACED RIGHT, I SPOKE WITH ONE OF THE NURSING INSTRUCTORS MONTHS AGO AND THEY SAID THAT IN ORDER FOR THEM TO HAVE ACCREDITATION THE HAVE TO HAVE AT LEAST 1 YEAR WITH THE INSTRUCTORS AND THE DEAN MUST BE THERE AT LEAST 18 MONTHS, SO WHAT HAPPENS?:cry:THE NEW DEAN WHO TOOK THE PREVIOUS DEAN SPOT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THERE 18 MONTHS WHAT HAPPENS?
  22. eyespy i would like to know where you heard that because, dosen't that mean that the students who are graduating are not going to be able to work at certain places do to it not being accredited, i heard that some places don't hire you unless you have graduated from a accredited instituition. some one who is in the nursing school please clear this up for us.
  23. i would like to know that also, because i am re applying for the fall of 2009.
  24. thanks so much!:)
