Hi All,
I'm wondering if any one has heard of Brandman University. They have a new ABSN program in San Diego, CA that i'm looking into. My grades are not competitive but i want to get into my career soon.
Has anyone been to this school, and if so, how did you like it? Do you think I'll be able to land a good job as an RN if I were to apply and attend? I'm nervous, since it is a new program! Such as, what if they end up closing and the degree won't be valid ?
Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone, I applied sometime last Summer and have been completing a few pre-req's at Brandman since. This is the last semester for me and I am starting the nursing core classes May 4th. This is the very first cohort to start the nursing core classes. I have had one introductory immersion class with fellow students who were accepted into Summer 1 and fall 1 cohort.

I was notified by email from my admission counselor, then about a week later got the letter in the mail.
Thank you so much! Congrats again. May I ask how big your cohort is? Steve from admissions said it might be standard mail but didn’t mention email or the portal. Are you living in SD area?
@veronkia It's distance learning. I love the online classes, they go by fast and the workload is very manageable for 8 weeks. As for the immersion class it was a one day thing for about 6 hours, we had guest speakers and got to meet the program director, advisors and such. Also each cohort is 24 students I believe.
@Leocky oh I did not realize that it was all online. When speaking to the advisor he said that classes would be hybrid requiring some campus time for tests and other things (2-3 times a week). Is this not your experience? Obviously clinicals would be at the Sharps facilities, but I am curious about how much face time besides clinicals one can expect. Do you live in San Diego currently? I live in Los Angeles and I am just trying to plan logistics of what I will need as far as space to be successful if I am admitted.
I meant for the pre-req classes they are all online. I honestly have no idea how the nursing core classes are set up, it seems like you know more information than I do and a lot of things are still up in the air since it's a new program. I received an e-mail the other day saying that they will review clinical and course requirements when I start the core classes on May 4th. Yes, I live in San Diego. I know some people are commuting further than LA so it must be managable.

@omarrr_h That sucks, I would have mentioned it to my advisor. Anyhow, Seeing how this thread has gone pretty stagnant it’s nice to see the only other active person is applying to the same cohort! Maybe it is a blessing in disguise!
