Hi All,
I'm wondering if any one has heard of Brandman University. They have a new ABSN program in San Diego, CA that i'm looking into. My grades are not competitive but i want to get into my career soon.
Has anyone been to this school, and if so, how did you like it? Do you think I'll be able to land a good job as an RN if I were to apply and attend? I'm nervous, since it is a new program! Such as, what if they end up closing and the degree won't be valid ?
Thanks in advance.
Hello All, I just finished a zoom meeting with my advisor and financial aid officer. I was told that there were over 300 applicants. They had me set up my school email and went over my academic plan. They had me activate the “my Brandman “ site etc. I will begin taking the two required Brandman courses 1 begins May 5th. They are not waived for nursing students. I have a prior Psyc bachelors but I am still required to take these courses. The nursing core is due to start Jan 1 for me , unless for some reason there’s a spot that opens up for the fall 2020 session. This journey has been quite painful and challenging. I have received several denial/rejections letters from different schools. It really feels terrible. It feels like we are just wasting our time. I was put on the waitlist for Brandman as well but I am FINALLY going to start this May?. Hang in there guys. You’ll get there. Don’t give up. It’s bound to happen. ?
4 hours ago, Ni Kai said:I have my bachelors, masters, HHA, CNA license plus went to PA school and have not heard from them. I have 600 clinical hours and worked as a caregiver . Out of my mind what I can do to get in at this point.
If your went to PA school why in the world are you trying to go to nursing school especially at BSN level? That's lower pay and less qualified than your PA status would give you esp in california. Your PA license even allows to work autonomously, which is the greatest need right now with this virus but in general for california as the older generations of General Practice MD's retire. Kaiser is hiring PA's like crazy right now and pay is very high.
Man I'm sorry about that. That's rough! But I can relate to that. I had similar situation and that's why my gap is 10 yrs from start and now. Super frustrating with expiration dates even with degree. Seems so wasteful and almost criminal to students as a money ploy to take more courses through their schools. Have you considered re-applying to PA school instead since you already passed the school the second time around might be a breeze.
My advisor told me that after May 4th is when he would roll over my app. He made it sound like it was a maybe that I could be accepted into Summer, then a day later he told me that they did not review all my prerequisites and I would have to send them a syllabus for review. Even though I took those classes at a community college in California.
The Counselor will reach out to you and ask if you want your application forwarded to fall if you are denied. They actually need your permission to do this. They could start reaching out if anyone the wait list is offered a seat because those who were given a seat should have responded by now. We had one week to accept the seat.

yeah it would have been nice to know. I sent all official transcripts and they counted 153.994 units. But it sounds like nursing department is the one being difficult.
