Brandman University ABSN Program

Published

Hi All,

I'm wondering if any one has heard of Brandman University. They have a new ABSN program in San Diego, CA that i'm looking into. My grades are not competitive but i want to get into my career soon.

Has anyone been to this school, and if so, how did you like it? Do you think I'll be able to land a good job as an RN if I were to apply and attend? I'm nervous, since it is a new program! Such as, what if they end up closing and the degree won't be valid ?

Thanks in advance.

Anyone know what is going on over there at Brandman ABSN program. Keeping getting different answers from different people.

I’ve been getting different answers too. Hope you get some clarity soon!!

I'm confused as well. I was told that I'm waitlisted. Then told that I was waitlisted because all of my science classes would have to be looked at to see if they transferred over. All of my science classes were taken at a community college in ca. I was also told my file would be under review up until May 4 and I could still be accepted in but that I would be able to roll my application over after that date to fall.

Hope all waitlist people get in. With the shortage of nurses due to COVID-19 they should expand the program and accept more students.

@cbarn005 Sounds great, thank you!!

Just a warning to all the waitlisted people, to check in with your advisor as to what you can do to improve your chances of being accepted! I emailed mine and he said that I haven't taken any of my sciences... I took all mine at Palomar... I then asked him that this must have been a mistake and he said that I would need to email all of my science syllabi to be considered for completion of Anat, Phys, Micro, and Chem.

This is the first time I was EVER made aware that my sciences weren't being counted toward my score to being accepted. Who knows if I was made aware of this 6 months ago when I applied the first time maybe I would have been admitted.

Something very disorganized happening here.....

The director recently left so I’m sure that is a huge factor if this disorganization. There’s a huge need of nurses so I hope they open up more seats! *fingers crossed*

I cant recall giving them my syllabi for my courses in sciences that I’ve completed. And I was just accepted for nursing cohort 2021 ?

Same exact thing happened to me. I just emailed my past professors for a copy. I don't understand how this could happen being that I took those classes in california at a community college.

@619nurse

where did you take your science courses?

@619nurse

Did you take them in north county SD? Or somewhere in California?

@KyleMG

Yeah I just checked in with my friend that's applying too and they did the same thing to her. Am I crazy to think this unacceptable for us not to know about this sooner?

@DD_futurenurse

I took my A&P and Microbiology through National University on campus in Riverside county.

I have my bachelors, masters, HHA, CNA license plus went to PA school and have not heard from them. I have 600 clinical hours and worked as a caregiver . Out of my mind what I can do to get in at this point.
