Brandman University ABSN Program

Published

Hi All,

I'm wondering if any one has heard of Brandman University. They have a new ABSN program in San Diego, CA that i'm looking into. My grades are not competitive but i want to get into my career soon.

Has anyone been to this school, and if so, how did you like it? Do you think I'll be able to land a good job as an RN if I were to apply and attend? I'm nervous, since it is a new program! Such as, what if they end up closing and the degree won't be valid ?

Thanks in advance.

Same! I took bio stats through national as well, they let you know after you are accepted if the courses is acceptable when you sit down to make your ed. plan. I also just need the bachelor writing courses. Our grades are comparable. Keep fighting!

Oh okay that’s good to hear! You give me hope. Thank you and CONGRATS again and I sure will! ?

Letters went out. Check your mailbox. I wasn't offered a spot but I am waitlisted. However the letter doesn't give any details about the waitlist.

From what my admission counselor said, is if someone who was offered a seat does not accept the spot within 7 days after getting thier letter then the people on the waitlist get a chance. Otherwise, you can resubmit to apply to the next class.

Sorry to hear, you are not alone! Have you applied to other programs?

@hukares
Yep! Pmar, Mira costa, CSUSM. What about you?

Hi All!

CONGRATS to those that recently got accepted and Good luck to those that are waitlisted! For those that got accepted what were your Undergrad GPA or overall GPA for the nursing pre-req's? Also did you guys have a strong letter of recommendation forms filled out? What were your strong suits? I just want to gauge how competitive this program is? :) Thank you!

@Edelizabeth2 my undergraduate GPA was a 3.0 and my nursing pre-reqs were a 3.6 I believe that I had very strong letters of recommendation and a strong personal statement. I've also had about 10 years of experience in healthcare.

I am very similar to cbarn005. My undergraduate GPA is 3.0 but my sciences/nursing prerequisites were 4.0. I had letters of recommendation from Directors of Nursing from my workplace and previous charge nurses. I would hope my personal statement was strong cause it came from my heart. I have been a LVN for 4.5 years with my experience predominantly in skilled nursing and post acute rehab. I hope this helps you gauge.

@cbarn005 thank you so much I think I have a similar background and information that you’ve provided me! Hopeful for the best!! Thank you!! ?
