boyfriends biopsy

Published

Hi all. My boyfriend is having surgery today. We found a lump in his thigh last Tues. He has been very sick (temp. of 102+ every night, vomiting, weakness, fatigue, weight loss 30+lbs) since October. No one has been able to diagnose anything. Before all this he was a very healthy 25 y/o former college football player. I am so scared and don't want it to show because he has been doing so well at staying positive..........:scrying:

Dr. called on Sat. and said that they still don't know what it is. The pathologists can't agree whether it is malignant or benign. They are having a conference on Thurs. with expert pathologists and oncologists and his Dr. is going to present his case. This is just unbelievable....

Thanks for all of your support:D

aww geez-I don't know what to say...I am so sorry this is dragging on.The fear of the unknown is the worst....once you know what you are dealing with and have a plan you can concentrate on moving forward....I don't know where you live but if possible maybe you can get to Fox Chase Cancer Center or Sloan Kettering if it turns out that you need to---if they are not even sure what they are looking at this point you might want to start thinking about a second opinion?......Good Luck-we are all sending positive energy your way...

Talked with Dr. today and they are unsure if it is sarcoma or lymphoma. The tumor is coming out next week. I don't know if I could have waited any longer. Now the question is whether anything has spread or not. This is all being done at University of Iowa. He has such a positive attitude that I hate to be negative at all in front of him. It truly helps me to just type this out.

Until next week.....

I am sorry that you and your loved one are going through this. Please, please, please, do remain positive. Sure there are times that hopelesness will peek through, but strive to remain positive in light of any results.

I am an ovarian cancer sourvivor and along w/the awesome and miraculous support from family/friends, I think my positive attitude helped *a lot*. We are talking...I would have chemo in the AM and be at my tennis lesson that afternoon; OK so I had to take brakes to be sick, but I was still out there living life! That was in the late 1980's and I hear that nausea is pretty much a thing of the past.

My prayers are going out for you and your loved one during these trying times.

My support and prayers are with you both!

Hang in there...we are all thinking about you and your boyfriend..Stay strong...and have people to cry with too...Take care..All the best to you
