Hello everyone - I just wanted to create a thread for those of us applying to direct entry programs in the Boston area to talk. Has anyone heard from any schools yet? Although I did not apply to Regis early decision (I am applying by the regular deadline), I know that they have likely already notified people - congrats to those who got in! I called Boston College a few days ago, and they said they are notifying people late February. I'm also applying to MGH, Northeastern and Simmons.
Good luck to everyone!
PsychLisa and HugaNurse - I have a feeling you guys are going to get good news from schools soon, I just think they have been so slow this year, and the wait can make us all feel insecure! I bet the delay is due both the an increase in applications, plus the weather this year - I know the 20 blizzards this year slowed the time it took for my apps to get to different schools when I tracked the packages online, and I live in Boston! My app to Simmons took 5-6 days to get there, even though I live 30 min away - I should have just driven it over! Several schools and admin offices were closed for snow days, etc. too, which likely slowed things down a bit.
Good luck guys! Here's hoping we hear some good news this week
Hi guys - did you see the MGH thread on the MA board? It looks like some MGH letters were sent yesterday (for people who received merit scholarships, I believe), and we should receive the at the end of this week, and they are sending it via snail mail and email. I haven't called the office myself, but this is what it said on the other board...
choco80- just as HugANurse said, thanks for the reassurance! kind words always help especially in anxious times :) I wish you all the best as well! Good news about MGH, I live about 20 minutes away from the school and didn't get anything today so maybe by the end of the week like they're saying! However, it's a little bit like the boy who cried wolf...so I'll believe it when I see it!
I was just wondering if people have a first choice school? Has anyone mad a decision about where they will be attending? For those who were accepted at Northeastern, have you received your actual acceptance letter in the mail? I am looking to see who future classmates may be! Have a good day everyone!
hs2011, my top choice was BC because of the reputation of the program and the experience of friends that have gone to BC, NU and MGH. All three are great schools, but I think BC will be a better fit for me. I have had some great interactions with the faculty there over the past year and am excited to be starting there in the fall. I sent in my deposit to BC a few weeks ago. I wish I could have heard back from MGH before making that decision, but regardless of what I hear from MGH I am thrilled to be going to BC. Good luck to everyone with their decisions!
Hi Molls,
I don't know that I'm well-qualified enough to answer most of these questions, but I'd bet there are some MGHI nursing students on other threads. I think talking to students or past students would give you the specificity you're probably looking for. I had a good feeling about the program coming out of the information session. The faculty and admin. folks they had there were well-prepared and friendly.
I did have a friend who went there for direct entry and said great things about the classes and program, but also said that the administration was disorganized. Hope that helps.

Has anyone heard back from NU that wasn't psych?
