Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) Spring 2021

Hi , Creating this thread for anyone applying for Spring 2021 at BMCC . I didn’t get in last round so will plan to sit the HESI in December hopefully . Not sure what my PCI is but I got A’s in everything except AP1 which I got a B in . Please share tips or info so we can help each other . I’m in my 40’s and I’ve young kids so this is definitely a career change for me !

Just read that... Confused.. So for this Spring, ranking/acceptance is based on pci GPA *only* and not 50% pci + 50% HESI?

I’m super confused as well... so why we took the HESI then? And it says it will be calculated. So it might be that and then the higher the GPA the more chances you have getting in.

I don’t even know at this point. They’re all over the place and it’s a mess. ?

Is HESI used as tie breaker then? Like if two ppl have 4.0 pci? LOL?

So I guess we won't hear anything this week then(?)...

Usually the orientation is during the week right after new years, based on what I read in previous semesters.

I had my phone on ringer all day but I’ll probably just let it go for now.

I haven’t seen taking these tests every semester in the nursing handbook for sure ?

but like I said, they never gave me a straightforward answer or explanation for my questions before either so you might be right.

HESI is a company. They administer the entrance exam but also the standardized exams at the end of each semester. The standardized exams do not affect your grade and they’re based on the material you study each semester. 
I just finished my first semester btw. 
Also last semester they didn’t call students, they just sent a Zoom invite to those who got in...

Oh now I get it. Thanks for the clarification!

I knew HESI is by elsevier and they have other tests too, but I know from the other school that I applied to that HESI A2 is exclusively an entrance exam.

That’s where I got confused. Like why the last semester have to take that if it was omitted and it’s for admissions/placement.

that’s how they did it last semester. They sent an email saying that they’ll send a Zoom link and they will also be in touch with those that didn’t get in. And then a day later I got a zoom invite. Hang in there, you will hear from them soon

So Jules10 did you all have to take the HESI A2 ? Do you know if many students withdrew and are repeating this semester
