Hi , Creating this thread for anyone applying for Spring 2021 at BMCC . I didn’t get in last round so will plan to sit the HESI in December hopefully . Not sure what my PCI is but I got A’s in everything except AP1 which I got a B in . Please share tips or info so we can help each other . I’m in my 40’s and I’ve young kids so this is definitely a career change for me !
Ohh sorry, I misunderstood. No, you do not need to register for a class for Spring if you took a class in the Fall and you’re already a student at BMCC. If you get into the program, they will register you for the nursing class and that’s it.
As for the schedule, I would ask the advisor if they can secure a spot for you in the morning, but when I started the semester, they stressed that it’s based on the lottery. you find out the section soon after you get your acceptance.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, back in the Summer, I personally asked the nursing dept (not the advisor herself) about that lottery thing and they said it doesn't work like that, theres no exceptions for student's personal/work schedule. I have a feeling if I ask the advisor, I might get the same response (?)... But you know what, if she calls me and tells me im in, I'll ask her right then and there just to give it a shot.
Who knows.
For now, I'll just stick to requesting tues, thurs, and fri off from work to play it safe.
Do you mind if I ask what your admission stats were when you got accepted? Like your HESI (or Kaplan?) Score, pci GPA, and overall GPA? Sorry, im Just curious and anxious at the same time LOL.

Just to note, there is a form you can fill out and submit to request a change in section and the reason (letter from employer, etc). There is a deadline to submit this change though and I would check on when it is for your cohort but you can definitely submit a request to change section if you must.
Good luck!

I hope we hear something tomorrow but I have a feeling its the 28th...I just want it to be before new years.... This wait is torture.

No... so annoyed. I have my job and I need to know my schedule for February. It just takes so long and so nerve racking.

I've been debating whether to email the nursing department or wait this out until Wednesday the 30th. I know that they're closed on 12/31. I just hope this doesn't get dragged out into the first week of January.
I wanted to email them too, but knowing how they were brushing me off before and were even rude when I had questions... not too confident if I’d get answers.

Yeah, I just wrote to them from a different email address I have. Waiting..... ?
I hear you on the schedule. For Feb, I put in days off and requested time off for both the morning and afternoon day sections, because I don't know which one I'll be in or let alone if I am even *in* it at all to begin with LOL. I also would like to know if I'm in so I can drop this other program that I've been accepted to, starting Jan 11th.

I see. At what point, after they tell you you're accepted, does this lottery occur? Reason I ask is Because I work 3-11pm and assuming I get the worst case section (afternoon) I just wanna know as soon as possible. If I end in the morning section, all I gotta worry about is that one clinical day per week. But with afternoon, it's 3 days/week I have to worry about.
So for Right now, to be on safe side, I just requested time off (vacation/holiday) for both the afternoon section days and the one clinical day for morning section.
Regarding my other question... I mean like we're applying for nursing this Spring, so do we have to be registered for a class (any class) in Spring to remain matriculated? Like I didn't register for anything because im waiting to hear if im accepted or not. Im assuming everyone else here did the same (?)
