I have not per say " lawyered up" and the hearing is Friday. The enforcement section would not even offer me a settlement. I'm very nervous. I have 13 years in the field.

In my state we don't have both so excuse my ignorance, what is the difference between the two?

I don't understand the question...you're transferring your license from LPN to LVN? I've never heard of that. Usually a state uses one or the other designation, not both since they are essentially the same.
But your post also seems to indicate a potential disciplinary action?

LVN is an LPN in TX or CA that is the only difference.

It is in your best interests to have legal representation for any action that involves your license, you have left it late, since the hearing is Friday, but you should still try and seek legal advice today. Look on The American Association of Nurse Attorneys for a referral to one in your state.

Is there back story to this? The hearing is just for changing LPN to LVN, or is the hearing secondary to your DUI charge?

I'm really confused too.
If this is regarding your appeal for a DUI conviction, you might want to reconsider self representing before the BVNPT

The Board will not offer you a settlement, the hearing is on Friday, and you have not retained an attorney? Don't you think you should take more action than this? The CA nursing boards are not known for being forgiving. I would have an attorney with me on Friday if I were you.

I'd be nervous, too, if I had not hired a lawyer and was facing a disciplinary hearing on Friday that could affect my livelihood........good luck.
