Good evening Everyone,
I have a question and it seems like everyone on this forum responds much quicker than the school does so please respond if you know the answer to this.
I plan on applying to BMCC’s nursing program in Fall 2021, I’ve completing my prerequisites (Eng 101, Mat 104, Psy100, Chem 121) and have gotten an A or A- in all my classes and accumulated a 3.9 GPA. I just completed Eng 201(which is not a prerequisite) Summer session with a C-. I’ve taken Speech 100 & I’m taking BIO 425 and Psy240 this fall.
Based on what I was told by The nursing dept, they only look at your grades for the 4 prereq’s (Eng 101, Mat 104, Psy100 & BIO425) but I’m wondering if I should retake my ENG 201 class for a better grade.
Please note I’m in the process of reaching out to my English 201 professor to dispute my C- grade.
And I’m considering transferring to other nursing schools since BMCC’s process is lengthy.
Please share your thoughts, Thank you!
Hi everyone!
I’m new to posting but have been lurking for a while LOL
Does anyone know that she calculates the GPA with this weird thing where you multiply the credits by the points and then divide the total points by the total credit? Anyways it made my GPA a bit lower ? It’s a 3.76 instead of a 3.8.
I got an 86 on the HESI and wish I had prepared for it because I kind of just winged it ? anyone know if my scores and GPA is even good enough to have a fighting chance ?
I was doing some research and seems that class average is based on who took the test with you that same day and time not everyone who took it overall but I am not positive. also people took the exam until may 8th I think. so I do not think it includes everyone. I took it 5/4 @ 2pm and based on the averages they gave me as the class averages on my reports. it looks like 83% was the overall average score.
I hope you have a good chance cause then hopefully I will too. I got a 88.6 on the HESI and my GPA is 3.75 so we are very close.
I have heard there were alot of no shows and like 4 people I know failed so hopefully not to much competition but I also know some people got in the high 90s and have 4.0 GPA so there is no telling what could happen and where we really stand.

Oooh, I never noticed that! I didn't even realize if you pressed that little + symbol that it would expand to how you did on each section, I thought the only breakdown was that bar graph. I wonder!
Edit: I do think it might actually be the class average of our particular school, because when I opened how I did on math it gave my score, the national score, and then the class average, all 3 different numbers. If it wasn't the class average and was part of the national score, it wouldn't have been included I'm guessing
