BMCC NURSING PROGRAM FALL 2021

Published

Good evening Everyone,

I have a question and it seems like everyone on this forum responds much quicker than the school does so please respond if you know the answer to this.

I plan on applying to BMCC’s nursing program in Fall 2021, I’ve completing my prerequisites (Eng 101, Mat 104, Psy100, Chem 121) and have gotten an A or A- in all my classes and accumulated a 3.9 GPA. I just completed Eng 201(which is not a prerequisite) Summer session with a C-. I’ve taken Speech 100 & I’m taking BIO 425 and Psy240 this fall.

Based on what I was told by The nursing dept, they only look at your grades for the 4 prereq’s (Eng 101, Mat 104, Psy100 & BIO425) but I’m wondering if I should retake my ENG 201 class for a better grade.

Please note I’m in the process of reaching out to my English 201 professor to dispute my C- grade.
And I’m considering transferring to other nursing schools since BMCC’s process is lengthy.
Please share your thoughts, Thank you!

That's the impression I was under too, but I am just wondering in a hypothetical situation if you had Person A (new applicant) who got on overall score of 92% and Person B (reapplying) who also got a 92% score who would be chosen to get in? It seems like since you can only apply twice to the program, they might let the person reapplying in. Just something I have been thinking about.

I would think they'd use the GPA as a tie breaker

Does anyone know if you’re emailed or called if your admitted or denied?

last semester she sent an email with a zoom link if you got accepted

Okay, makes sense. Thanks!

As far as I remember she said she'll be notifying students beginning of June. But some people remember her saying beginning of July so a little confused about when we'll actually know ?

I remember her saying from the info session, and she reiterated it before we started our HESI exam, that you will be notified by June. The July date is for the orientation if you are accepted.

by June is great! Thank you

That’s a good question. I think it’s a full week but not sure

I took my exam yesterday and the proctor/professor said the last exam is on Saturday! only about 11 people took it with me on Thursday at 9am, and 2 people didn't show up.

Also, my proctor relayed a message from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME): we will know by mid-June at the latest if we're accepted or not. We have a mandatory orientation, I think first week of July. She also mentioned that yvonne does not want anyone emailing her about if theyre in or not LOL but what else is new?

Hey, guys

I wish I knew about this chat prior taking exam. I had so many questions about a lot of stuff for which I found answers here. But it’s too late. Anyway I have 4 As and 1 A- in prerequisites. I got 94 in HESI. But I did bad in CT. So I am a bit nervous ?. Everyday I think about if I’ll get in or not. I will not cry if I don’t get in. It’s just so annoying to be in uncertainty. I wish ms P has assistant to do these stuff quicker or I would love to volunteer to help her ?. I’m so impatient and won’t to know ASAP.

Congrats on finding us! What was your CT score?

The wait is killing me !! I can not wait to find out.

@Mahri

I would volunteer too. the wait is unbearable. I just hope everyone makes it in. This is just the beginning.

Did anyone notice on their HESI scores under “My Exams” that there is a “Class Average” next to the score you received on the test. I am wondering if these are just generic averages used by HESI or if they are really based on the averages of the people who applied for BMCC Fall 2021?
