Hello fellow BMCC nursing applicants,
Anyone applying for Fall 2011? They now require the HESI A2 (I believe the Spring '11 hopefuls didn't need HESI). Does anyone know what the percentages will be for prereq GPA/ overall GPA/ HESI score in determining the rankings?
I'm pretty worried now because I was hoping to boost up my overall GPA from 3.7 to above 3.8 this semester. But finals just passed, and I calculated my grades; I think my GPA is dropping to a ~3.63 because I might receive a C in my Microbio class. I'm considering emailing my professor and requesting some kind of administrative withdrawal instead of getting the C. If somehow I'm allowed the withdrawal, my GPA will become ~3.84. My prereq GPA is ~3.86 (2As, 2A-s).
BMCC is notorious for rejecting 3.8s, let alone 3.7s and lower. Should I rely on acing the HESI or should I contact my professor and hope I get the withdrawal? Or is there a possibility that a 3.7 this sem could get accepted?
Hi everyone,
I'm also taking the HESI on Dec. 6th. Looks as though we're all in the same boat: wondering how difficult it will be, is the review guide enough of a study guide?
I can't seem to find any definitive answer as to how difficult an exam it is, and everything I read about the HESI A2 seems so vague.
I'll report back after the exam to give some feedback. Did I read that someone is taking it on the Dec. 5th? If you're able to post some feedback that'll be greatly appreciated, and the best of luck tomorrow!
Best of luck to everyone!!
Honestly I don't think the study is not enough,, I have been studying from my a&p books and doing a lot of mulitple choice questions online for the past three weeks. I also did some critical questions from the success book and the math from nln study guide. The study guide seems to easy and i don't hink will be that easy.
Hope everone do well. and hoping student post the info since it will be very helpful
Hey Stole238,
I agree with you about the study guide not being enough. I went through the A&P text, have done a lot of online quizzes, and was even meeting with a tutor 2x a week for the past 5 weeks. If anything I've definitely over studied (not always a good thing). :)
In terms of the math, I can't imagine there will be anything more advanced than the basic algebra some of us had to take or the MAT 104 that is required for entry into the program.
At this point I've learned all I can learn and hope that I'm prepared for tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed for us both Stole238 and all the others taking the HESI today, tomorrow, and the 9th! :)
