Thanks for your insight & support!!! This will be our first baby--we're hoping a girl but will be just as happy if its a boy. I'm really nervous b/c a week after we decided to start trying to have a baby I found out that my battalion (navy) is being activated in Jan/feb (most likely to the desert). It really put a damper on our plans, but that's the military for you. We only have til then to get pregnant & I hear so much about how it takes the avg woman to start ovulating 2-3 mos after she gets off the pill. I guess it's in Gods hands. I'll keep you all updated.
I would count that mid cycle bleeding as a period and start actively ttc a few days after it stops. I have been right where you are before, and feel like stopping the pill early just "resets" you, you have your period, and then have a normal cycle afterward.
BTW, my second baby was conceived that first cycle off birth control. I hope the same happens for you!

I've heard it's like 50/50 - many women seem to concieve that very first month off the Pill, while others take several months to start ovulating again. I've also heard that for women in their 30's and 40's, the rate of multiple pregnancy is higher that first month off the pill. In my mind, I picture those ovaries being so excited to finally get the chance to ovulate, they go a little crazy!

Hi,
My husband & I are trying to have a baby. I just got off the pill about 5 days before my ovulation time. As soon as I stopped the pill I got that annoying mid-cycle bleeding I was warned I would get when I quit it before finishing the pack. My question is: even though I was bleeding during my ovulation time could I still get pregnant??? My BMR went up around the time I was ovulating. Thanks bunches
