Birkenstock nursing shoes

Published

Just a little tid bit of opinion...I just ordered and recieved new birkenstock nursing shoes and they are wonderful!! They are a little expensive, but I'll tell you what...they are so comfortable, it feels like your in your socks. I suggest anyone who is flat-footed to invest in a pair! They are great!

Which kind did you get? I have some Super Birki's. I've had them for about three years...it's really time to replace that cork! ;)

You can purchase replacement cork inner soles, no need to replace the whole shoe. I used to replace mine about every six months. I probably have about 15 pairs, one in each color, plus a second pair of "dress whites" that don't have any betadine on them.

I have worn nothing but Burks they are wonderful on the legs and feet:rotfl:

i too have birkenstocks, bostons, and altho they were expensive, $103, they last forever (two yrs and going strong), so they are actually less expensive than the sneakers i was replacing every three to four months.

About 4 years ago I found out that I have heel spurs (no big surprise), the problem was that they were inflamed. I was told to get some Birkenstocks. I did. I, also, invested in a pair of NAOTs (made in Israel and think Birkenstock comfort with NO breaking in :p ).

A few months ago I started working in a facility in which I don't have to wear nursing shoes. I have been wearing regular tennis shoes to work and guess what? Heel spur is inflamed again.

So, for the past 4 years I have worn Birkenstock or Naot and have had no trouble with my feet.

Guess where I went yesterday? To get another pair of Birkenstocks. :chuckle I am going to see if I can find some more Naots as well.

My story is the complete opposite. The first (and only) pair of birks I got was about three years ago, and my feet have never been the same. Unfortuately, my feet are worse than before I ever wore birks. Within a month of wearing them, I got heel spurs. I refused to believe it was from the shoes that so many had raved about so I stuck with them for 8 months. As soon as I went back to tennis shoes, my heel spurs started to improve. Two years later, my feet are now almost back to normal. So now when I hear that name, it makes my right heel ache.

I'm glad you like them. I don't know what style you have, but mine feel like I'm walking on a hard board, and after spending $90.00 I am very disappointed.

Really old thread but - I got a pair of Birkenstock Alpro G 500 in all white for school and MAN! After about a week of wearing them they are really comfortable! When I first bought 'em I thought I'd made a mistake since they were so stiff and lumpy, but after wearing them around the house a bit, they are really nice. Totally recommend them (the Alpros I bought are closed heel if that is a necessity for you). Cheers!
