Binghamton BAT 2021-2022

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone! Just starting a thread for this cycle's BAT/ABSN program at Binghamton that's starting next Summer 2021. I've just submitted the SUNY transfer app, but holding off on submitting the actual BAT app for a little while longer. Hoping we can use this thread to talk about the program and post questions like years prior! The deadline isn't until November so it's still way early, but having the thread ready to go doesn't hurt. I'm also applying to Buffalo and Brockport so I'll likely be active in those threads as well! ?

I was accepted to the program but decided to give up my spot to stay closer to home. I hope this gives someone on the waitlist a spot! good luck to you all

Were you given the deadline of April 1 or March 1 to let Bing know if you want to accept/decline your offer of admission?

I believe it was April 1

Does anyone have an idea on how many people are typically asked if they want to be put on the waitlist? Like 50, 100, more?

hi, I called decker and asked this question this morning and the woman at decker said she wasn't sure but she DID tell me they tend to accept ~15 people off of the waitlist each year and not to lose hope because people occasionally decide to unenroll late, like towards may!! hopefully this is good news for one of us!

anyone from the waitlist hear back?

My biggest question is how many people are normally offered a waitlist position in the first place. Most of us who are active on here were accepted or offered to be put on the waitlist but not really any rejections, but at the same time there’s not a lot of people active on allnurses.

I just got a call from admissions offering me a seat! I hope more of you guys hear back soon!!

Can I ask what your stats were? Just GPA and any other parts of your application?

Thank you so much, I was literally shaking by the time I ended the call! And my cum GPA is about a 3.4 and prereq is 3.64. I sent in a personal statement and 2 letters of recommendations (1 from a NP I shadowed and the other from my Microbiology lab instructor).

I have experience working as a nursing assistant and telemetry monitor tech at my local hospital for 2 years and I was a research assistant in my university’s exercise science and nutrition department looking into child eating behaviors and childhood obesity in the US.

I’m so excited for you!!! Congratulations and I wish you the best of luck! I’d be shaking too LOL! I hope I receive a call today too!!

From past threads, it seems like Bing tends to only send out one round of waitlist calls so I’m super nervous HAHA
