Okay,

I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today!!

I was going totally mental with anxiety, checking this board several times a day to see when people were hearing back, compared to when they had applied and what their stats were. I was also very nervous about how I had done on the TEAS, so I wanted to post my info to help other people a little. Here are my stats:

I applied to the school January 4th, 2010. I took the TEAS January 23rd, 2010.

Previous BA degree in anthropology. I graduate in August of 2009 with a 3.46 cumulative GPA.

I took A&P I last fall, at Gateway: B

Developmental Psych: A

TEAS: 81.2% (mean national was 72.8% and the mean for the program 73.3%)

My adjusted individual scores were as follows:

Reading: 82.5%

Math: 82.2%

Science: 70%

English: 85.5%

In all my nervousness, I called two days ago and was told that I would likely hear back from the in school 4-6 weeks. Then I got my letter today, February 5th. For the record, my admissions essay was based on a CNA training course I took in the fall and I also think that having a previous BA really helped, especially in seeing past that nasty 70% in the science section of the TEAS.

Good luck and I hope this information was helpful, or at least of interest, to some of you!!

@teterichko... That makes much more sense lol... it seems the people that took the TEAS with Bridgeport are hearing back much quicker. @undergrad...The wait is definitely rough... I applied to Naugatuck and Gateway as well... but I know that you usually don't hear from them till May so I'm not even really thinking about them. Seeing everyone on the board hearing back so quickly definitely adds to the tension lol...

HuntleyCT.... reading this board is the worst when you're waiting to hear! I drove myself crazy. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! I don't know if this helps with comparison, but I applied to BHSN a couple weeks before the Feb. 1st deadline and took the TEAS at Gateway on January 31st. My letter from BHSN was dated February 17th I believe.

WooooooooooooHoooooooooooo!!!! The wait is finally over!!!! I got in... I can officially stop obsessing and finally relax.

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

yeah!!! congrats

Congrats! :grpwlcm::dancgrp:

Thanks... I am just so relieved its over and I can start planning for the fall! I drove down there today to drop off my matriculation fee. I don't want to leave anything to chance lol...

Lol I did the same thing when I received my letter. Did you pick days or evenings?:yeah:

Im definitely hoping for days... I don't know why they ask you again, when it's on the application.

Bridgeport Hospital does nothing to help you find a job once you graduate. It's important to go to a good school but the end result needs to be a job. If you want to work, choose another school with placement services. you should also reconsider getting a bachelor degree since most hospitals want that now. BHSN will just take your money and leave you hanging in the end.

Wow really? Could it be the economy right now that is causing students to remain jobless after graduation as oppose to the school? I feel like BHSN or any NS can only do so much. Employment is going through rough times so we have to get out there and market ourselves to the best of our ability. It would be great to find a school that offers placement services but realistically they can only do so much during these hard times.

Saint Mary's Hospital is looking for new grads to start in the summer. Check out the website
