Okay,

I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today!!

I was going totally mental with anxiety, checking this board several times a day to see when people were hearing back, compared to when they had applied and what their stats were. I was also very nervous about how I had done on the TEAS, so I wanted to post my info to help other people a little. Here are my stats:

I applied to the school January 4th, 2010. I took the TEAS January 23rd, 2010.

Previous BA degree in anthropology. I graduate in August of 2009 with a 3.46 cumulative GPA.

I took A&P I last fall, at Gateway: B

Developmental Psych: A

TEAS: 81.2% (mean national was 72.8% and the mean for the program 73.3%)

My adjusted individual scores were as follows:

Reading: 82.5%

Math: 82.2%

Science: 70%

English: 85.5%

In all my nervousness, I called two days ago and was told that I would likely hear back from the in school 4-6 weeks. Then I got my letter today, February 5th. For the record, my admissions essay was based on a CNA training course I took in the fall and I also think that having a previous BA really helped, especially in seeing past that nasty 70% in the science section of the TEAS.

Good luck and I hope this information was helpful, or at least of interest, to some of you!!

Are there any commuters from the Hartford Area? I just got into the school and am not looking forward to the drive. I have looked at Amtrack and they have a commuter train that could get me to bridgeport by 8 am. The pass costs 579 for 30 days and you can get a 15% student discount. I would like to hear from anyone who might be commuting from hartford and your ideas, plans?

I live closer to Hartford than Bridgeport also. I am only interested in the partial evening program though.

anyone know how many students get in the program every year?

anyone know how long it takes to find out if you got in after taking the TEAS exam?

took the teas 2/26/11 - letter mailed to me on 3/14/11.

does anyone know when they will start giving out replies to waitlist applicants? and/or what the process is?

I was accepted to both BHSN and NVCC's program. I've decided to go with NVCC although I've secured a spot at Bridgeport, so this will open up a spot for those on the waiting list!!

around the end of this month until july the contact people on the waitlist. as the people who were already accepted decline their acceptance they will call the next most qualified. if you accept then you have to mail them the deposit with in 2 weeks and then they send you all the information about orientation

I got in to NVCC too, but still plan on attending Bridgeport. I've just heard better things about them. One of my professors told me that I will have a hard time getting a job after Bridgeport if I don't get an AS degree also. Do you think that is true?? Does anyone know? I don't have any classes to take at Housatonic, nor will I have the time :/

I got into BHSN and GCC, I am leaning towards GCC but waiting for financial aid before I decide. Hopefully next week.

I've heard good things about both schools. NVCC is literally 2 minutes from my house, and I know a few people who have gone through their program and have good things to say about it. I'm not sure if it's more difficult to get a job without an AD, but there is a possibility that Bridgeport would offer you a job.
