Okay,

I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today!!

I was going totally mental with anxiety, checking this board several times a day to see when people were hearing back, compared to when they had applied and what their stats were. I was also very nervous about how I had done on the TEAS, so I wanted to post my info to help other people a little. Here are my stats:

I applied to the school January 4th, 2010. I took the TEAS January 23rd, 2010.

Previous BA degree in anthropology. I graduate in August of 2009 with a 3.46 cumulative GPA.

I took A&P I last fall, at Gateway: B

Developmental Psych: A

TEAS: 81.2% (mean national was 72.8% and the mean for the program 73.3%)

My adjusted individual scores were as follows:

Reading: 82.5%

Math: 82.2%

Science: 70%

English: 85.5%

In all my nervousness, I called two days ago and was told that I would likely hear back from the in school 4-6 weeks. Then I got my letter today, February 5th. For the record, my admissions essay was based on a CNA training course I took in the fall and I also think that having a previous BA really helped, especially in seeing past that nasty 70% in the science section of the TEAS.

Good luck and I hope this information was helpful, or at least of interest, to some of you!!

Congrats!!:yeah:Enjoy this for as long as you can. We earned it.

Thanks!

Yes, we all earned this... about 18 months of planning and prerequisites for me. My bachelor's is in Business Management so I started from scratch with the science prereqs. Anyway, orientation in June and school in September. We are almost there! YAY! :) Days later but I am still psyched!!

congrats @spennylee. You're hard work paid off and you have every right to still be psyched, esp starting from scratch.:w00t:

I just got my acceptance letter today for fall 2011!!!! I applied late-a couple of days before the deadline and took the TEAS on feb 5th...I actually wasn't expecting news until april/may! Congrats to everyone already accepted and I can't wait to meet my future classmates!!

@biobebe112 congrats on the early surprise!:dancgrp:

Congratulations biobebe!!! Enjoy & celebrate!! :nurse:

To all those still waiting or interested in applying here is some useful info:

I just got my letter of acceptance. I filed my app feb 11th, i took the TEAS for the second time( i took them once from CCC) on the 20th. My score was a 92% which put me in the 99% both nationally and for the program. I had perfect scores in science and math and in the 80's for the english. My GPA was a 3.0 after i retook chem 1. I have an F and several C's on my transcript which come from UCONN, a BS in Biological Sciences. My recommendations were from an employer, a camp director where I volunteer and an woman who's elderly mother I look after. My essay was about an experience at a camp for kids with special needs. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting or is interested in applying. It's quite a relief to get this whole thing over with and I am very excited to begin nursing school!

congrats teterichko123 and to the rest of you that were accepted!!! i am still anxiously waiting to hear from the school. i didn't expect to hear from the school for awhile but it seems as if many of you are hearing back quite early.teterichko... how did you apply on the 11th of feb if the cutoff was the first? is that the day you took the teas?

Good luck @HuntelyCT...the wait is brutal but I'm rooting for you and hope you have some good news to share soon.

I meant Jan, sorry, in all the excitement I got my months all mixed up. I took the TEAS in the 20th I think, somewhere in there. It was cool that I got my acceptance within a week after my TEAS, otherwise I would have gone crazy!
