I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today!!
I was going totally mental with anxiety, checking this board several times a day to see when people were hearing back, compared to when they had applied and what their stats were. I was also very nervous about how I had done on the TEAS, so I wanted to post my info to help other people a little. Here are my stats:
I applied to the school January 4th, 2010. I took the TEAS January 23rd, 2010.
Previous BA degree in anthropology. I graduate in August of 2009 with a 3.46 cumulative GPA.
I took A&P I last fall, at Gateway: B
Developmental Psych: A
TEAS: 81.2% (mean national was 72.8% and the mean for the program 73.3%)
My adjusted individual scores were as follows:
Reading: 82.5%
Math: 82.2%
Science: 70%
English: 85.5%
In all my nervousness, I called two days ago and was told that I would likely hear back from the in school 4-6 weeks. Then I got my letter today, February 5th. For the record, my admissions essay was based on a CNA training course I took in the fall and I also think that having a previous BA really helped, especially in seeing past that nasty 70% in the science section of the TEAS.

i personally thought that AP2 was easier than AP1. not so much memorizing.. its a lot more physiology and i found that much easier to actually learn because once you understand it then you know it.
still didnt get anything yet.. im trying to wait patiently though!

Guess what, mine finally arrive about an hour ago! I've been playing with it and I'm in love. Kindle app is fantastic. You can highlight and add notes to text so easily! It would be great for textbooks.

I got my letter today.... I got wait listed.....I'm so upset and I would rather of just not been accepted.. I don't want to wait anymore and I haven't decided if I'm going to.. I might just try something else..i don't know.. Besides my English grade I really don't know what else I can make better..I'm just really frustrated and mad! I really thought I got in...
i am also waitlisted but think of this the community colleges did not drop bhson yet because their money is not due until the 5th of may. then they will start calling and decllining the seat. I have 4 in my A&PII class that are in that situation. It is very frustrating that they wont call but they want to make sure their seat is reserved at the CC. Think positive. I dont want to wait anymore either.
Aww, man! Just try to stay positive. It is better than an outright denial. I can understand how u don't want to deal with having to wait any longer. However, you could easily get a call any day with an open spot. I know its tough, but I wouldn't give up hope. I'm sure seats will open up like JDoll said within the next few weeks. I'd keep your phone close by at all times, just in case. Keep us updated. I really hope to see you guys in the Fall!! (fingers crossed)
Regarding the iPad, it just gets better the longer I play around with it. You have to get this app called LogMeIn Ignition, under the productivity category. It allows you to have full access to your computers. So you can use the ipad or even your iphone to gain access to any program or file on your computer at any time! The screen is an exact replicate of your entire computer. So glad I went 3G! Also, so much for needing extra disk space. It'll come in super handy for viewing the professor's lecture notes when I'm out and I have some free time to study.
I know I really want to stay positive but it's hard now..I was thinking positive this whole time and now at this happened I have soooooo much doubt! I really convinced my self I got in so I could get through the day and I guess I shouldn't have because now I am soo disappointed. And it didn't help that everyone around me was telling me the same thing. I don't know what to think..I'll keep you all updated! Hope I have good news soon!
I am SOOOOO loving my iPad though! I havent put it down and I only had to charge it once! I love how fast it is and I was worried that it wouldn't be as sensitive because it is a bigger screen but I think it's better and more precise! I just love it more every day!!! that sounds like a cool app. I found one for a printer so you can print to any printer you have set up from anywhere from the ipad.
Hey BHSN class of 2012, orientation is coming up at the end of June. Be sure to bring your checkbooks lol. Alot of stuff to buy ... books, uniforms, you name it.
Can't wait.... Although my wallet isn't looking forward to it. I'm still waiting to receive the letter with the date and time. I've heard they should be mailed out shortly. Does everyone go on the same date or are there a few days?
