BHSN-Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing Fall 2011
Andy, if they don't offer rooms and you need to find an Apartment, send me a PM and I can give he scoop on the cheep but safe areas close to and around school. I live in Bridgeport, and while much of he city is dumpy, there are some decent safe areas with relatively inexpensive rents. Congratulations on the program, will see you at orientation.

Just got my orientation packet and I'm scheduled for June 24 at 3 p.m. Anyone else at that time?

Did anyone else have a difficult time in A&P II ?( have to take a second time)
Just a suggestion from experience. Microbiology is interesting but very difficult because it requires a lot of study time. It would be a better road if you took Chemistry and Psychology together in the fall, and save Micro for the spring.

Of course I'll accept. I know it's going to be really stressful for the first semester trying to do A&P II with the program, but I've worked a lot my whole life and I'm comfortable giving up any semblance of a life for one semester. I love the subject matter so I know I'll be able to handle it, though easy it will not be. Lol. Once everyone gets their letters we should get all get together for coffee over the summer to get to know each other before the program starts. What do you think?

Thanks for the advice guys. I went to talk to my micro professor from this semester and bio professor from last semester--who also teaches A&P--they told me i would be better off taking it in the Fall with the program, based on my studying style. So I'm going to take the gamble and take the job. I'm not against the online option, just not sure I want to give up the grant money that covers it if I take it at HCC in the fall.

Ok I need some advice. I won't know if I got in or not until Thursday, but I got offered this great summer job that I want to take. The more I work now, the less I'll have to in the fall. Anyway, I'm totally crazy, wored 60 hours a week all the way through my Bachelors degree, and I plan on keeping a limited 10-20 hours per week schedule if I get in this fall. If I take the summer job, I can't take A&P II over the summer. I would have to take it in the fall, everyone tells me that's crazy, but they also tell me taking it in 5 weeks over the summer is crazier. I've always been really good at time management, and an excellent student so I know either option is possible, just looking for some advice. What would you do?

They were, but seriously don't stress it and just remember how backlogged with applications they are. God knows it's not easy, but getting an ulcer isn't going to change what day it gets here.

Nothing for me, but two people in one of my classes got their letters last week.

In the event you need to take a class for Sociology, I took it at HCC Monday and Wednesday nights. The class is so easy you could sleep through it and make an A. She gave 3 50 question, open note exams, and most of the class was movie watching. The exams are so easy, I never missed a single question. Lol. Anyway, that's my advice--you could do it while in nursing school if you had to because it's no more difficult than just showing up.
